    What you'll Do

    This full-time position will be based in Adobe’s headquarter office in San Jose, CA, with our Patent Team to assist in mining and protecting inventions, coordinating with outside law firms, and crafting reports and presentations on IP matters.

    As a Legal Specialist, you are a driving force behind the success of the Team. Get ready to build and improve business processes, maintain records, analyze data, and coordinate communications both within the patent team and across the organization.

    Under the supervision of the Patent Team members, you will :

  • Hold brainstorming sessions with various business units and mine patentable inventions from those sessions
  • Work with various patent management tools to maintain records and export metrics for report generation
  • Use technology (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, and other Office 365 tools) to analyze data, create metrics, and generate reports and presentations on the patent portfolio
  • Assist with budget planning for building our IP
  • Coordinate communications across subgroups within the Legal Department, internal clients across Adobe, and vendors
  • Review and respond to requests from internal business clients with high attention to detail
  • Identify areas for improvements in various patent processes and develop, implement, and streamline methodologies
  • What you need to succeed

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • A passion for emerging technology, even if you do not possess a technical degree
  • A critical thinking and meticulous nature
  • Be Independently resourceful with a strong problem-solving initiative
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude
  • Must have a desire to learn and take on new things
  • Experience with data entry, records, or database systems management
  • Proficiency with office software, and ability to use technology for organization, reporting, and automating processes
  • Prior legal or patent experience is not required, but would be a plus
