The Opportunity

The Marketing Data Scientist will work with the Marketing and Customer Insights (MCI) team within the Global Marketing Organization.

MCI has a dual mandate of providing objective marketing analytics insights while supporting the growth of the Adobe business.

You will be responsible for developing and refreshing econometrics media mix models to support the work from the Marketing Planning and Analytics group.

These media mix models are the core of our planning process and guides our recommendations to support the growth for Adobe’s $8 billion Digital Media Business.

The position requires close partnership with Finance, Campaign Marketing, Go to Market teams and data engineers to ensure that the development of econometric media mix models is aligned with the team’s business needs.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate with data engineers to ensure accuracy of data collection that will feed into the models
  • Manage the continual updates of the marketing mix models by including the latest data and trends for our Creative Cloud and Document Cloud businesses.
  • Build new marketing mix models which address new markets and lines of business.
  • Lead the thought leadership on the next generation of models to differentiate customers values
  • Run quarterly analysis to identify the trend of the base contribution (i.e. revenue not driven by marketing) and forecasts future base contribution
  • Communicate model results and insights with shareholders on the business side (Creative Cloud and Document Cloud)
  • Run ad-hoc regression analysis to support the needs from the marketing organization
  • Collaborate with the strategic managers to ensure alignment with future need of the business
  • What you need to succeed

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, or relevant industry experience
  • Strong communication skills to communicate complex concepts into easy to understand methods.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with programming marketing mix modeling and time series forecasting
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics or data science teams, with a track record of driving business change
  • Experience with MMM modeling and time-series forecasting. Understanding of MTA models is a plus
  • Experience programming in SQL and R or Python. Comfortable working with various modelling platforms
  • Motivated and intellectually curious individual who is ready to dig into data, pay high attention to detail, and build solutions to business challenges
  • Ability to extract / synthesize insights from large datasets and outstanding communication skills to provide reporting both written and in-person presentations at an executive level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a diverse team and build cooperative, productive relationships with colleagues and teams across the company
