Within the JCI Costa Rica CoE MEP plan and lead the design process, based on the development of the different stages of each Project, together with your work team.
Tasks and responsibilities
Plan the work structure for the assigned projects, distributing the stages and workloads of the design process between the dependent personnel. (Work Cell)
Supervise the development of the designs of the projects assigned according to the guidelines established by the Project Coordinator.
Use the design tools to perform and document the estimates of the Project. These memories of calculation and other documents developed should be archived digitally with the Project.
Coordinate and ensure the follow up of the Work Breakdown Structure of the assigned projects of your work cell.
Keep the Praesto up to date in regard to personal daily activity and supervise with the Internal Control Engineer your work team’s performance.
Generate the change order and report it to the director in charge and the control engineer.
Communicate when the execution of a Project is finished or a change in the date with the client is established with proper justification.
Supervise the budget of hours of each Project assigned versus the actual hours used by your team.
Supervise Team log hours in Praesto, the respective areas (square meters) of each Project assigned to the respective work cell.
Assist the meeting / visits to the site for coordination purposes with clients / suppliers to follow up on the development of the projects.
Supervise the work of the dependent personnel.
Check the blueprints or deliverables required before their delivery.
Check systems offers and answer clarification documents for bidding processes.
Investigate and find information referring to the electromechanical systems laid out, whether it’s through the internet or directly with suppliers, contractors or representatives of the product / system, according to the requirements of each project in charge.
Request quotes so a notion exists of the cost of the electrical equipment. (Transformers, generators, substations, UPS, cables, among other) and mechanical systems (fire pumps, clean water pumps, air conditioning equipment, forced ventilation, gas, valves, among others.)
Perform other tasks proper to the position.
Studies and academic level : Bachelors Licenciatura in Electrical, mechanical or electromechanical engineering, incorporated in the Colegio de Ingenieros y Arquitectos de Costa Rica.
Type of experience and years of work : Five years of experience in the elaboration of electromechanical design blueprints, preferably that these 4 years are in positions inside Circuito’s design department.
Two years experience in personnel supervision.
Training : Knowledge in interpreting and elaborating the electromechanical blueprints in a digital manner, due to an advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux, Revit, and Microsoft office.
Knowledge in international design codes.
Languages : Have at least tan 80% knowledge of the English language, at both written and oral level.
