The Role and Opportunity
View Item and Transaction Flows Engineering team owns item details experience, end to end responsibility for auctions & offers, and SEO optimized landing experiences.
In other words, this team is responsible for the heart of eBay. We drive billions of dollars in revenue via user experiences delivered daily across the globe, across all devices & browsers.
Team and experience have great financial and customer impact and role has high visibility in the organization. In addition, being the core eBay experience, it has to delight the diverse customer base across the world.
We ship often, get immediate user feedback and use experimentation to make decisions.
Our agile teams are based in San Jose and Portland. Scrum teams work on all screen sizes both on the web and native. Like everything else at eBay, we build scalable and highly-available systems for the millions of users that depend on us to conduct their businesses.
Primary Job Responsibilities
We’re seeking a Member of technical Staff (MTS1) iOS engineer with a proven track record of building iOS applications using Objective-C, Swift and pushing mobile technologies to the limits and will work with a team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications.
As a MTS1, this person will be hands-on with product development, building high quality software. This role requires to have influence through technical design leadership from backend to client levels.
In addition, they are expected to mentor other senior engineers whilsetting the standardar on the team’s discipline and technical excellence.
Being able to deal with complex systems while helping the rest of the team navigate ambiguity in requirements is very important.
This role requires partnership and collaboration with other organizations throughout eBay, so (s)he must have phenomenal communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Having a good amount of experience with agile teams and methodologies is required.
