Key Accountabilities :

Global Research & Engineering Capability Roadmap and Enablement

  • Stay abreast of industry advancement and new opportunities that unlock competitive advantage.
  • Establish a clear roadmap in alignment with R&E customers, DTS, and the greater K-C organization.
  • Ensure awareness of roadmap with both R&E horizon strategies and alignment with the DTS vision.
  • Develop business and financial business cases for major programs and initiatives within area of accountability.
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture, R&E, and other teams to keep the R&E digital capability portfolio evergreen, including the decommissioning and replacement of outdated technologies.
  • Customer Relationships that Drive Outcomes

  • Establish and develop outcome-focused relationships with R&E customers from Global, sector, and regional functions across the globe.
  • Align and reconcile capability needs across R&E organizations.
  • Guide customers and DTS teams to sell and bring the strategic vision to life.
  • Strike balance between pursuit of strategic vision and portfolio and cost optimization.
  • Partner with Delivery Organizations

  • Understand current capabilities and how to build a bridge to the future.
  • Blend pursuit of strategic vision with existing commitments and priorities.
  • Influence delivery and other DTS and R&E teams to embrace the vision and bring it to life.

  • Information and Digital Technologies Strategic Leadership : The DTS Capability Leader is responsible for establishing a trusted relationship with key stakeholders and leaders in the segment, being a connected, influential player with teams across the globe.
  • As a trusted advisor, they serve as a contributor to the deployment and realization of the Strategic Business Plan. In partnership with DTS leadership and business stakeholders, the capability leader defines the DTS strategy plan and roadmap for R&E Science and Technology with a strong data & analytics focus.

    They ensure governance and alignment of business demand with supply, leveraging the Kimberly-Clark IT portfolio of services.

    They build and effectively communicate plans, gain support from key stakeholders, and translate business needs into enabling capabilities.

  • Business Change Initiatives : The Capability Leader develops an on-going project portfolio to achieve the strategy, considering global and sector goals, corporate priorities, technology / data opportunities, and cost pressures.
  • They provide prioritization guidelines and lead a focused agenda. With adept understanding of business value, they drive clear prioritization of value creation and business impact.

  • People Management and Operating Model : The R&E Capability Leader understands the Kimberly-Clark DTS operating model with internal employees and external third-party resources and processes.
  • They suggest operating model and process improvements.

  • Finance and Value Management : The R&E Capability Leader defines a portfolio of investment initiatives and priorities along with customers and other DTS teams and leadership.
  • Digital Technology leadership : The R&E Capability Leader has a strong focus on the consumer and a strong understanding of data, algorithms, UX, APIs, platforms, RPA & Smart automation, BOTS, eco-systems and Augmented Reality.
  • He / she plays a key change agent role by contributing to digital business transformation.


    Education required / preferred :

    A Bachelor or Master’s degree is recommended with a minimum 7 years of IT experience or relevant functional business and process expertise appropriate to the role.

    Experience :

  • Domain knowledge of Innovation, Product Development, Science & Technology, and Data & Analytics capabilities.
  • Proven track record in CPG / FMCG / Retail in the implementation, embedding and adoption of Data & Analytics capabilities in Product Development.
  • Strong Project Management Experience including use of agile development methodologies
  • Certified Agile experience / Experience on an Agile team
  • Experience in an Agile Product Management / Product Owner role
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration at all levels
  • Ability to build trust and to build and maintain relationships needs to be strongly developed.
  • Confidence in operating as a change agent and strong customer focus with a bias towards action.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, including experience in strategic decision making and successful influencing at a leadership level.
  • Confidence in working in a matrix organization, influencing without having direct decision-making power and driving success through uniting diverse customers and IT teams
  • Financial acumen to support business case creation and measurement
  • Verbal and written fluency in English is essential
  • Skills / Competencies :

    Stakeholder relationship management : Supports business change, acting as a trusted advisor for senior stakeholders, facilitating relationships between them.

    Ensures that stakeholders understand available IT services and promotes financial and commercial awareness to deliver value-for-money.

    Change implementation planning and management : Outlines key business engagement messages that need to take place throughout the program / project.

    Ensures that there is a business perspective on how the new technical capabilities will be delivered to the business. Initiates all business change management activities in preparation for new technical components and technologies.

    Ensures achievement of the business case after delivery.

    Portfolio management : Leads the definition of a portfolio of change and the portfolio roadmap. Engages and influences senior managers to ensure the portfolio will deliver the agreed business objectives.

    Plans, monitors, and reports on activities related to the portfolio to ensure that each part of the portfolio contributes to the overall achievement of the portfolio.

    Information systems coordination : Maintains an awareness of the global needs of the organization and promotes the benefits that a common approach to IT deployment will bring to the organization, across information systems and business management.

    Coordinates the promotion, development, acquisition and implementation of information systems and services in close liaison with those responsible for management and strategy.

    Think Customer : Ensuring that the customer perspective (internal, external and / or consumer) is a driving force behind business decisions and activities enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.

    Build Trust : Confidence in working in a matrix organization, influencing without having direct decision-making power and drive success by uniting diverse IT teams.

    Possesses strong negotiation and influencing skills and can demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully and constructively with staff at all levels.

    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

    Role will report to the DTS Manager, Global R&E Science, Technology.


  • Travel may include approximately 10-15% of work time. Travel may include travel via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various locations, if applicable.
  • Varying working conditions may include prolonged sitting, typing, and viewing computer / laptop screens, along with occasional bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, climbing, twisting, stooping, walking, and standing.
