Job summary

Amazon’s PXT HR organization is seeking an HRBP who is excited about helping our leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations for innovative programs that improve performance, retention and drive the overall employee experience.

As the frontline consultant to people managers HRBPs are seen as subject matter experts because of their sound knowledge in company processes and policies, as well as their ability to offer a strong and compelling point of view around HR related matters.

The HRBP will act as an influential partner in helping managers with talent management processes, performance management, people development, and implementation of organizational changes.

A key area of focus for the HRBP is to increase manager capability, which should enable them to be more self-sufficient and drive manager education on important people programs, policies, tools and processes.

HRBPs are in a position to spot trends, identify emerging needs, and address them in partnership with the appropriate business or HR stakeholders.

The HRBP supports managers on employee issues including disciplinary, performance improvement and grievance processes.

Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Provide ongoing support to employees on human resources related matters, policies and procedures.
  • Coach, train and guide managers during the Talent Management and Annual Compensation Planning processes
  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers who have identified low performance to ensure employees are managed fairly and effectively.
  • Support people managers with career conversations, Development Plans / Career Growth Plans and other development initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations and manage employee relations cases, in coordination with the Employee Relations and with the Legal department
  • Maintain the fair and consistent treatment of employees by conducting investigations and disciplinary actions where complaints or misconduct arises excluding cases that relate to harassment and discrimination.
  • Analyze data and observations across the organization, highlighting trends and recommending / driving solutions, as appropriate.
  • Manage employees’ programs and managers to drive improvements in employees’ engagement
  • Educate and guide managers on job code and fit queries
  • Partner with HR Services (HRS) to ensure that people transactions are processed timely and processes are continuously reviewed, improved and streamlined
