ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technical Manager is responsible for the technical integrity of digital projects while providing technical guidance to clients and department staff at the brand, program, and project levels.
He or she is a day-to-day lead on production projects and works with technical team to perform evaluations and feasibility reviews of creative concepts and technology solutions.
Some of his / her usual tasks would be :
Act as a point of technical escalation and resolution during the project life cycle as it relates to technical decisions.
Determine and provide a necessary level of technical documentation during requirements gathering, based on technical services group standards and procedures and discussions with project staff, industry experience, and technical vendors.
Assist the Directors and Project Managers with scoping, identification of project deliverables, and creation of project-specific documentation such as functional specifications, technical specifications, etc.
Proactively work with producers to ensure that appropriate staffing resources are assigned, put in place, and effectively utilized at the appropriate time.
Lead adherence to brand requirements at the technical level.
Qualify and provide definition to technical strategy by performing evaluations and assessments on the various technical aspects of a brand.
Work closely with quality assurance resources to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly assigned, fixed, and regressed.
Communicate daily regarding project status with appropriate team members.
Provide technical consultancy to department staff and participate in business development efforts including proposals, development plans, and presentations, as directed.
Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in digital media technology.
Work with project management to ensure that all projects which the team is involved with are delivered on-time and are of high quality.
Assist with project estimations acting as the technical subject matter expert.
Assist with resource allocation, ensuring that the appropriate resources are assigned to the
Act as the first step in the team's escalation path for technical issues on projects.
Work with HR to handle with all non-project related personnel issues (e.g. hiring, terminations, conflict resolution, lack of quality).
Work with individuals to set performance goals and expectations. Set development plans. Monitor performance progress. Evaluate performance.
Plan and conduct performance reviews.
Provide to the team standard processes of the organization, such as standards, project policies and quality procedures, templates (e.
g. project plans, change orders, timelines, estimates, technical templates, checklists etc). Documentation and measurement of learned lessons.
Identify process improvements according to the team and client’s needs.
Help people connect with others on the team, building an inclusive identity for the team.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency to achieve results, create an environment that promotes innovation.
Ability to perform in a changing volatile and complex environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in a related field.
6+ years of experience leading technology / development projects and teams, preferably in an agency environment.
Great knowledge of front end, back-end web and app development technologies, concepts and best practices.
Different programming languages like .NET, PHP, Java and frameworks like MVC, entity, Sitecore, Umbraco, Hibernate, JSF, Spring, CodeIgniter, Symfony, etc.
Good understanding of data handling through XML and JSON Standards.
Extensive experience with a variety of server-side technologies, databases, and frameworks.
Strong familiarity with web standards and best practices.
Knowledge of latest industry trends in desktop, mobile, and video platform development.
Good animation / interactive skills. Good understanding of basic animation principles, techniques, and related software.
Capable to track technological trends, to be one step forward and lead the team in the transition of potential areas of interest.
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Impeccable work ethic and professionalism.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and reliably deliver work of the highest standards.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
UX / UI project development experience.
Game or interactive applications / presentation development experience.
Knowledge / familiarity with SVG animation, Canvas 2D animation WebGL 3D animation, libraries like GSAP / CreateJS, Spritesheet animation.
Knowledge / familiarity with Phonegap / Cordova / Ionic or similar wrappers and / or ElectronJS to deploy HTML / JS / CSS apps to Desktop.
Knowledge / experience in continues integration systems, cloud-based services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Rackspace, Salesforce, etc).
Comfortable integrating websites with other web applications and systems, both commercial and open source.
Experience implementing complex distributed systems that involves web services, databases, websockets, SEE and similar.
Possesses a track record of outstanding results.
Demonstrates accountability; owns outcomes and results, prioritizes tasks, and consistently meets deadlines.
