Job Purpose / Overview

Drive a sustainable model to grow in the modern trade while leveraging strong brands and deep channel knowledge. Costa Rica UTT (not included Walmart) represents 15% of volume in Confectionery (chocolate, gums and fruity confection) and Pet Care categories in Costa Rica.

Opportunity lies within perfect store implementation to exploit potential in high traffic stores and map out opportunities for smaller trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management : ensuring & recommending the right products, in the right place, at the right time with 100% focus on core & their numeric distribution increasing.
  • Budget Controls : manage & recommend trade investments only with healthy ROIs of at least 4 to 1 to ensure long term brand building aligned to market strategy.
  • Ensure healthy inventory levels in each customer s warehouses.

  • Business Planning & Development : ability to proactively anticipate channel and market dynamics by having multiple contingency plans available to ensure sales maintain pace & don’t suffer
  • Perfect Store : implement perfect store practices for UTT customers. Sell Out data analysis to measure the impact of these implementations in-stores.
  • Customer Relation : able to relate to people at all levels in the organization to build and manage internal / external relationships involving all stakeholders.
  • Category Expertise : understand, apply and transfer category & brand knowledge by working closely with Category Leaders & Customer Marketing.
  • Numerical approach : able to use sell-out data for fact-based arguments & go beyond with shopper insights that can help transform the business

    Context and Scope

  • Planning & negotiate Mars business objectives in the UTT customers.
  • Growing the business and staying on pace with solid planning, organization KPI tracking & execution; while guaranteeing synergies with our functional departments like finance and logistics.
  • The associate will need to develop strong influencing without authority with support teams : Customer Marketing, Category, Execution and Supply.
  • All actions based on Mars Five Principles and reporting to the Costa Rica Market Development Lead.
  • Job Specifications / Qualifications

    Education & Professional Qualification : Bachelor degree plus professional certifications. MBA degree could be considered as well as equivalent experience with supervision, finance or marketing studies.

    Knowledge / Experience :

    4-6 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years managing CR UTT customers (not included Walmart).

    English Knowledge :

    Intermedium knowledge : speaking, written and reading.
