Position Purpose

Every day, Cargill creates and publishes content and stories to help our employees better understand how we’re making progress against our important strategic priorities.

Our 155,000 employees have diverse information needs and preferences, and our global comms teams are constantly seeking ways to work together on things we all share, while also making it easy for us to address the distinct needs of the employee groups we serve.

This role will create content and support a number of ongoing communications channels and owns and delivers on some of our more standard announcement protocols.

This role may also be tapped to support communications campaigns and content that connect Cargill’s employees to our strategy through elements of compelling storytelling.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to develop content that helps employees get the information they need and help them understand what’s important now.

As a member of Cargill’s Communications team, he or she will have demonstrated skills in developing strong editorial content, while also understanding how to leverage other multi-

media options such as design or videos. Candidates will also possess strong organizational and project management skills to deliver work on time and on budget.

Principal Accountabilities

90% Editorial, distribution and administration support for Cargill’s internal communications teams and channels

  • Support Cargill’s internal communications teams by Developing and maintaining editorial content and assets for internal channels;
  • Publishing or distributing content through existing vehicles, including websites, populating newsletter content, distributing email announcements, etc.

  • Own and maintain specific channels that have regular cadence and content parameters; Partnering with team members to support logistics and execution of live events;
  • Maintain and report metrics on primary vehicles and content as part of ongoing work to produce engaging and informative material.

  • Content types could include leadership or corporate announcements, short-form stories or profiles, infographics, support for executive presentations, videos, Yammer posts, etc.
  • Content will be used on intranet sites, email announcements and newsletters and town hall meetings.

  • Role will interface with multiple key subject matter experts within our businesses and communications team.
  • Responsibilities will also include ability to analyze data and metrics on content performance to determine how we improve content creation and channel strategies.
  • 10% other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience creating editorial content in English.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish
  • Ability to travel 5%
  • Additional Required Skills

  • Experience working collaboratively to create and write content, oversee production, edit and finalize content for publication
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to engage or interview subject matter experts on a variety of topics
  • Critical thinking capability and business acumen
  • Strong team player in a cross-functional, global setting
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete concurrent projects under tight deadlines
  • Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Powerpoint, Excel, Word), Sharepoint, O365 and posting to websites maintained in Sharepoint;
  • Experience and proficiency managing and working with Poppulo newsletter templates and systems
  • Proficiency with content development software such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Familiarity with AP writing style.
