Based in our Houston, TX or Escazú, San José, Costa Rica location, the Global Logistics Manager will lead the budgeting and forecasting, develop and execute logistics strategies which will provide outstanding material flow, improved customer service level and minimize risk.
You will also provide leadership to ACT Sites to drive logistics strategies in support of Perfect Execution principles of speed, performance, cost and cash.
The Global Logistics Manager also analyzes, designs and implements optimized supply, intracompany and distribution network and handles cost reduction, transit time reduction and transaction elimination.
AS A GLOBAL LOGISTICS MANAGER, YOU WILL :
Assume overall responsibility for ACT Logistics in multiple tasks including but not limited to the following Deliverables and Key Performance Areas :
Accountability for optimization for Logistics and Freight Spend and Performance across modes and lanes for the ACT Business Unit from Speed (S), Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Cost (C), Cash (C) and Capacity (C) perspective.
Identify cost and volume trends, determine correlation between those costs and the business financial impact and implement strategies to optimize transportation costs and services.
Validate and / or reengineer freight processes to eliminate non-value added activity.
Prepare management reports and carrier data as required, and proactively seek enhancements in data collection, analysis, and communication.
Manage the implementation of new awarded carriers for all Modes of Transportation
Determine impact of proposed rates and service offerings by mode and / or service provider.
Provide logistics support for ACT manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers when requested.
The Global Logistics Manager must be team oriented and able to influence others not under their direct reporting structure.
Represent Actuation Technologies on Corporate mode team(s), especially to drive Ground Transportation Contracts and play key role in the decision making in award of contracts, implementation of ongoing performance measurement for carriers across modes (AIR, Ocean, Ground and Parcel).
Drive deployment of SCO for freight cost optimization across ACT sites.
Coordinate Logistics projects and / or activities for the ACT Sites
Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost containment.
Work together with mode teams in setting up New Lanes, Managing and optimization of existing lanes across modes and key decision-making related to Ground / Parcel / Air / Ocean bid reviews and implementation
Develop standard reporting and metrics in line with the existing program metrics
Coordinate recurrent calls with the carriers in order to improve the KPI’s

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or Operations
Experienced in Logistics, Materials Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management or related experience
Persuasive communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
Tact and diplomacy required in relations with carriers and internal / external customers.
Passion for supply chain management and a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs
Successful track record in development and implementation of logistics optimization initiatives. Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management.
Strong ability in planning and analytics. Structured problem solving and project management skills.
Experienced with MS Excel and PowerPoint for purposes of data analysis and creation of presentations
Domestic / international travel as needed (10%)
