Amazon is seeking a Senior Corporate Procurement Manager to lead Latin America (LATAM) Global Corporate Procurement Sourcing and Procurement Operations teams.
The position can be based in Costa Rica or Brazil. This key leadership role covers all of Amazon LATAM including Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, and Columbia and is responsible for sourcing of indirect spend including facility management, various professional services, employee benefits, recruiting services, construction projects, marketing programs, etc.
Key leadership traits of this leader include the ability to form strong partnerships with senior business leaders and their teams to define requirements, identify the best suppliers, and negotiate advantageous pricing, terms and performance for Amazon.
This leader is also responsible for managing procurement operational metrics, enabling catalog sourcing where possible and driving spend control improvements.
This leader will also coordinate with Corporate Procurement leaders in other regions and organizations globally.
Primary duties of this role will include :
Identify and manage sourcing and supplier engagement activities across LATAM
Provide guidance to local employees on procurement principles, policies and processes and maintain procurement ethics in accordance with Amazon’s global policies and procedures
Work closely with the business teams to understand their purchasing needs and align them with the best suppliers to meet their long-term goals while focusing on total cost of ownership (TCO)
Deliver procurement savings by conducting strategic sourcing activity including developing category strategies, managing competitive RFPs, evaluating supplier proposals, conducting supplier negotiations, and developing source selection recommendations
Provide input to regional business reviews and prepare and hold country business reviews with local stakeholders and senior leaders to review supplier performance, future opportunities and / or challenges
Implement supply and supplier risk management actions and support resolution of supplier quality or performance issues
Implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization by implementing methods and systems to continually improve sourcing, operations and procure-to-pay (P2P) processes
Drive effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration across both global and local teams
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or 15 years of progressive sourcing / procurement experience at a multi-national corporation
Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
15+ years of procurement / purchasing experience, including strategic sourcing and negotiations
8+ years of experience of hiring, developing, and a procurement team
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
In-depth understanding of procurement processes (sourcing, contracting, negotiation, etc.)
Customer focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business
Demonstrated success working cross functionally and in a matrix organization Ability to analyze and develop conclusions from large sets of data
Knowledge of contract terms and conditions and in country laws and regulations
Highest degree of ethics and integrity
Experience in Project Management
Portuguese language proficiency is beneficial but not required
