  • Bachelor degree in Computer science or equivalent
  • 4+ years of Database Administration experience in Oracle 11G Database along with Real Application Clusters(RAC)
  • 2+ years Database Administration experience in either MSSQL 2008 / 2012 or MySQL 5.x
  • Experience in working on Unix (AIX, Linux) and Microsoft Windows platform
  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Recovery Manager (RMAN), to monitor Oracle / MSSQL infrastructure as well to backup / restore databases
  • Exposure to automation using any infrastructure a code language (Shell, Power Shell, Python etc.)
  • Any exposure to SCRUM tools & framework would be an advantge

    Operations & Reliability Engineering (ORE) is part of the Global IT Services organization, and Database team is a part of the ORE services.

    The team is responsible for managing the firm’s entire global IT infrastructure. This role will offer you first-hand experiences with the support of a broad range of leading edge IT infrastructure technologies, and it will offer you the opportunity to work in a globally dispersed, multi-national environment.

    You will administer the firm's global database infrastructure environment and perform second level operational support for McKinsey's heterogeneous database platforms

    In this role your responsibilities will include tasks such as installation, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL database servers.

    You will also perform database server infrastructure monitoring, backup / recovery, and performance tuning of the infrastructure through McKinsey implemented tools.

    You will perform database upgrade to new versions, as well as timely applications of database patches.

    Additionally, you will handle other administrative requests, such as schema creations, audit setup, application releases, disaster / recovery implementation, among others.

    You will support internal customers, the majority of which are members of the IT support entities. Occasionally, you will also deliver support directly to McKinsey end-users.

    You will encounter a variety of support requests in the defined area on a regular basis in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a wide variety of support queries and issues.

    You will deliver high quality IT support by implementing the best possible solution for the customer. In applying this, you will often work against tight deadlines and goes the extra-mile as needed.

    You will need to prioritize and escalate problems when required.

    Finally, you will demonstrate a high level of commitment and ownership in your work and in team collaboration, showing a common understanding of a client-first oriented work environment.
