TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology.
Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers.
They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Manage projects that include new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions, as well as support for the introduction of new products.
Coordinate the design, supply, manufacture and qualification of tools, machinery and equipment under test.
Generate and maintain product routes, process drawings, and standard costs.
Provide justifications, implementation and capital validation of new equipment.
Review the manufacturing and process capabilities of new and existing products.
Ensure the implementation and maintenance of reliable and repeatable processes that meet safety, quality, performance and cost objectives.
Improve efficiency towards optimization of process flow, equipment performance and best manufacturing practices.
Develop and implement quality and cost reduction improvement projects.
Ensure the use of engineering principles and rigor to solve complex design and process challenges.
Establish project priorities, effective resource management to meet business objectives and monitor progress.
Participate in the development, modification and execution of the department's policies.
Ensures budgets, planning and quality requirements are met
Determines staffing needs, discipline, and terminations by reviewing attendance and performance records.
Ensures that the priorities of the engineering department are aligned with the general strategy of the Site.
Ensure the availability of adequate resources (quantity and quality) to support normal day-to-day operations.
Ensures that the available resources of the department receive the correct training in order to be prepared to absorb new products or future technologies.
Ensures that engineering department personnel have robust development plans. Competencies :
MBA, Bachelor or Bachelor of Engineering
Minimum 12 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with a strong emphasis on wire technology and processes. (medical device industry preferably)
Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience as a supervisor / manager in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Desirable with working knowledge of mechanical design, FEA, geometric tolerances, metrology, machine control, and desirable metallurgy.
Experience with DFM, Lean / Six Sigma principles and design of experiments.
Highly developed in leadership skills.
Ability to map tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines-.
Develop, monitor, and live within budgets, as well as the demonstrated ability to forecast major milestones.
Must be an expert in delegating, working in a team and directed towards accountability.
Must be able to work cooperatively and productively with others.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change.
Demonstrate the ability to create and read engineering drawings and diagrams.
Knowledge of CAD Software (SolidWorks, ProEngineer, CATIA, etc.).
Must have excellent problem solving skills and analytical skills.
