Manage the daily operations of assigned team and assisting the Global Materials Manager in improving team productivity and efficiency by influencing, motivating and guiding direct reports to their optimum performance.

This position will also be expected to perform purchasing activities for specific commodities as well.


  • Coaching, mentoring, training, and developing direct reports for career progression, performance improvement, and recognition purposes
  • Manage the team by Overseeing the purchase order (PO) placement, data quality, workflows, metrics, etc
  • Disseminates product / process updates to staff and
  • Anticipates and foresees the requirements of customers based on previous data and precedents.
  • Escalates specific issues and provide recommendation to internal customers to address them. Assists direct reports in resolution of escalations on the area of specific support.
  • Works closely with counterparts / POCs to identify loopholes and process gaps.
  • Submits period reports on metrics / KPIs / Dashboards to determine performance of the team.
  • Plans, assigns and directs work to the employees in cooperation with the direct supervisor or manager to manage workload and projects
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates team activities to enhance team camaraderie and employee engagement
  • Runs the order recommendation, reviews and releases orders according to MRP suggestions and considering stock rotation objectives and needs by dates;
  • Ensures on time delivery for open orders to suppliers and works on establishing an efficient working cooperation with them;
  • Expedites open PO's to ensure timely delivery;
  • Enters / updates part item information into the ERP System
  • Requirements

    Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management or any related field is preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of years’ experience in Purchasing or Production Scheduling / Planning areas
  • N.A.P.M and / or A.P.I.C.S certification a plus
  • Language Skills

  • English Proficiency Required
  • Other requirements

  • Previous team lead experience preferred
  • Experience working with Oracle ERP system
  • Good working knowledge of MRP
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good analytic and problem-solving skills and be attentive to detail work in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in negotiations, conflict management and change management
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to manage conflict.
  • A high degree of problem solving and the ability to drive change.
  • Planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills and ability to multitask and maintain by adapting to change
