Bacardi Business Service is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven andinterested in a career at Bacardi.

The accounting specialist / professional position is a highlycompetitive role structured to strengthen accounting and finance competencies.

You will gainexperience managing Costing & Inventory processes while also gaining exposure to Intercompany Accounting, Period End Close & Consolidation.

This role provides support and training needed to develop a well-rounded accounting and finance skillset, which will be the foundation for advancing your career Bacardi.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Perform tasks related to the Costing and Inventory team within the Bacardi Global Services Center, which serves over 30 business units and Corporate Headquarters operations
  • Participate in the execution of the following tasks :

  • STC reconciliations, troubleshoot and resolution.
  • Regional and global coordination of STC tasks and SOX checks.
  • Inventory and Warehouse reconciliation and confirmation.
  • Cost Master Data creation and maintenance understanding the trading flows.
  • Balance Sheet Account reconciliation (BBSR).
  • Calculation, entry, review and posting of accounting journal entries.
  • Development and issuance of financial reports.
  • Financial data reporting.
  • Analyze monthly and YTD variances.
  • Support quarterly and yearly tasks (such as LIFO reserves, inventory reserves, Transfer
  • price true ups, variances analysis, revisions release).
  • Troubleshoot differences between systems (SAP-BW-STC).
  • Be able to respond and support auditor’s requests.
  • Support implementation of new projects from costing / inventory perspective.
  • Execute and support Plant Costing processes, including absorption of new plants on time and with no impacts to operations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal Bacardi clients as necessary to ensure that work is properly delivered.
  • Influence the markets to follow the correct procedures and policies.
  • Consistently meet or exceed Service Level Agreements pertaining to Costing and Inventory accounting processes.
  • Continuously identify, propose and execute process improvements.
  • Ensure Costing & Inventory accounting procedures conform to GAAP and Bacardi financial policies and procedures.
  • Lead the most demanding projects of the team, such as BBSR, Program Now initiatives, Accounting and Costing master data massive clean ups, Fiscal year end coordination, STC database administration, Audits, Toll manufacturing projects, Continuous improvement, etc.
  • Develop capability and technical mastery in the clerks via ongoing training programs.
  • Measures of success

  • Month end close executed on time.
  • Quantity of red accounts.
  • Aging of red accounts and value at risk.
  • Escalations.
  • Quality of explanations provided to Bermuda and global cost of the variances and
  • differences identified at month end.
  • Number of materials with differences in standard costs (expected zero).
  • Number of active materials without standard cost populated in SAP.
  • Number of red flags from Bermuda.
  • Number of master data errors on materials.
  • Number of post close entries.
  • Dollar amount of differences in cost of sales and inventory reconciliations.
  • Differences in warehouse reconciliations.
  • Penalties due to incorrect filings.
  • SLA compliance over tickets.
  • Audit requests delivered on time and with quality.
  • Projects excellence and delivered on time.
  • Overtime.
  • Critical experiences for success

    To be successful in this role you will have / be :

  • Previous experience in Cost Accounting Operations, using SAP platform.
  • Possess technical mastery in topics like standard costing, inventory flow, transfer pricing and variances accounting.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and manage his / her time efficiently.
  • Ability to push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and mindsets.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences.
  • Proactive individual that can collaborate and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to create capability in other members of the team, in a way that his / her technical mastery can be transmitted to them.
  • Works well in a team environment and is a self-starter that continuously is thinking on how things can be done better requiring minimal direction and support.
  • Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism in a customer service environment
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (outlook / excel / word / powerpoint / lync)
  • Working knowledge of SAP environment.
  • The following experiences are preferred :

  • Experience in the Spirits and / or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of Bacardi Business Partner / Shared Services / Centre of Expertise.
  • Experience in Shared Services environment preferred.
  • Foreign language skills (English, French, and Portuguese) preferred.
  • Relevant education :

  • University degree in Accounting / Business / Finance or related discipline, CA / CPA certification, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English. Advanced writing is a must, since 90% of our communications are held via email-link, and intermediate to advance speaking is required.
