Role Overview

The position is needed to support base business production on machine shop and also is the technical lead for transfer projects.

This person will be responsible to lead and implement the productivity projects of the area .

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manufacturing Process following the 7 diamond process, starting with the 4th Diamond. Perform Real Time Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • If the problem is design related, drive resolution with R&D. Use a systematic problem solving method (PDCA, DMAIC) to drive continuous process improvement in its product line.

    These efforts are necessary to minimize amount of line downtime, continue to reduce scrap, or product manufacturing costs and continue to drive line efficiency. ( 15%)

  • Identify process deficiencies, conduct Business Case Analysis on Possible Corrective Actions, and provide a prioritized list of recommendations to ensure the right priorities are being set and resource are being used effectively. ( 10 %)
  • Develop and lead Technical Reviews on change of process, material, or tooling to ensure changes meant to address a specific problem do not produce additional unnecessary adverse effects or other types of problems. ( 5 %)
  • Work with either the Production line directly or with the Pilot Line to implement process improvements to achieve the quickest implementation possible with the least amount of interruption to production. ( 10 %)
  • Conduct and complete equipment, fixtures and process validations (IQ / OQ / PQ) as needed to ensure proper qualification and to ensure that the fixtures and machines actually accomplished desired outcome be it variation reduction, scrap reduction, or efficiency gains. ( 15 %)
  • Write MPIs, BOMs, MCOs, NCs, Deviations, Routers and release documentation into agile using ECN system. Own CAPA issues related to its product line.
  • Write and Perform Rework Instructions as needed to resolve production issues. ( 15 %)

  • Understand and use SAP functions : 1. inventory levels (raw materials and finished goods) and 2. Product costs to gain necessary data to set priorities, perform business case analysis, analyse potential backorders, or perform component sorts. ( 5 %)
  • Resolve problems with raw materials as needed. Work with IQA and drive vendor technical solutions to resolve material issues.
  • Update part drawings and part specifications as needed to clarify information being communicated to vendors to prevent future raw material issues. ( 10% )

  • Train Operators and other Engineers on technical issues and rework instructions as needed to ensure proper documentation execution. ( 5% )
  • Work with counterpart process engineers in the US to support DOE and lab notebook studies as for new product development. ( 10% )
  • Formulate department annual budget process. Execute annual objectives within established financial resources approved within the budget. ( Continuous )
  • Follow all requirements written on the ArthroCare Corporation induction manual, safety manual, Quality manual, internal policies, FDA, TUV, and UL Quality System Requirements and any other required by the Corporation.
  • Participate in audits as required. (Continuous )

  • Comply with the implementation of standards and occupational health programs established by the company, through a compliance with those recommendations to perform the work safely and also advise the company on improvements to prevent incidents or illnesses that could actually damage the integrity of workers and / or the facilities and assets of the company. ( Continuous )
  • Responsible for safeguarding all documents, confidential information, equipment, tools, raw materials, products or other assets directly related to their field of work, in order to avoid incidents that affect the productivity and distribution of our products that may cause economic impact for the company or a breach with our customers, suppliers, shareholders and / or other key audiences. ( Continuous )

    Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor / Master degree in Engineering Sciences
  • Licenses / Certifications : Experience with ISO 9001 : 1994, Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Experience : 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience required, including people management
  • Competences

  • Experience managing a machine shop operation and part validation
  • Demonstrated knowledge in metrology and product development in Swiss automatic lathe
  • Strong analytical, organization, decision making and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively drive results across teams and in different levels of the organization.
  • Professional experience in complex problem solving
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills
  • Strong time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and that requires transformational results.
  • Able to work independently and solve complex problems, apply expertise, best practices and data analysis.
  • Experience people manager to facilitate the work of the team under his responsibility.
  • Understand regulatory, Quality Management System, HSE and GMP requirements to ensure compliance and risk management.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and perform under minimal supervision to obtain results as well as process enhancements.
