The Senior Director Mfg. Supply Chain Operations is responsible for maintaining network continuity of supply to support manufacturing operations.

Responsible for strategic direction and tactical execution functions and end to end activities related to production planning and monitoring, material purchasing, inventory control and shipping / receiving and logistics functions.

This individual ensures short-term effectiveness and long-term viability of the supply chain to support production operations, developing and maintaining lasting relationships with internal and external suppliers and customers.

Additionally, this role will assist in executing strategic initiatives that drive productivity and operational effectiveness of the Sports franchise and S&N supply chain.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead production planning by aligning and forecasting service requirements in coordination with the appropriate service and support teams for each product manufactured in Costa Rica. (20%)
  • Responsible for the materials planning, delivery and inventory control related to new product introduction, as per established budget (10%)
  • Develop and implement Supplier Management strategy to ensure timely and efficient availability of raw materials for local use, and provides support to Production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet requirements (10%)
  • Leads direct team members and influences others, creates a culture of trust, care, support, and inclusion across the organization, drives a feedback-oriented culture and is responsible for developing their team and driving organizational performance and drive to achieve and enable others to find solutions, overcome bureaucracy and obstacles to decision making and efficiency (10%)
  • Establishes guidelines and provides support for matters related with Indirect Material Vendor (5%)
  • Define and deploy appropriate policies to ensure warehouse, inventory control and transportation of products and materials are executed in a safe, timely and cost efficient / profitable operation, with the necessary equipment and resources (5%)
  • Develop, deploy and sustain franchise country allocation process for accurate status of back orders (10%)
  • Identify root causes of excess inventory and facilitate reduction with manufacturing and global supply chain entities (10%)
  • Enable process technology to maximize data transparency and standard planning effort (5%)
  • Perform Budget and forecast activities to meet site and franchise financial goals. Establish cost controls to meet commitments to corporation.
  • In case of deviations to financial targets, develops plans to mitigate impacts (5%).

  • Enable Process for real-time back order and backlog drivers assessment (5%)
  • Perform other duties as required (5%)
  • Location : Costa Rica

    Education : BS Supply Chain or related field; MBA preferred

    Licenses / Certifications : Not Required; APIC / Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / Advanced Leadership Training desired.

    Experience :

    10 or more years' experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Buying / Planning and Procurement

    Experience in multi-national manufacturing operation with global supply network under effects of foreign exchange fluctuations.

    Experience in Medical device manufacturing.

    Direct experience with international currency exchanges is desirable.

    Excellent communicator and demonstrated ability to influence and facilitate cross-functional corporate teaming.

    Ability to influence team members, peers, and managers in a matrix environment

    Demonstrated business acumen with a strong understanding of operations, compliance, and finance with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex issues

    Knowledge of the following standards : ISO 13485 : 2003, Current Canadian Medical Device Regulations (CMDR), CMDCAS- Canadian Medical Device Conformity Assessment System, Current US Food and Drug Administration -Quality System Regulations.

    Knowledge / Experience in following areas :

    Fully Bilingual (English - Spanish)

    Experience managing ODM’s, EM’s and diverse suppliers

    In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, Order entry, Advanced Supply Planning, & IT requirements integrating Supply Chain Collaboration tools with legacy systems

    Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) & Consigned Inventory

    Supply Planning Horizons and long range demand / supply planning

    Blanket and Discrete PO management

    ECO Management / NPI

    Management of Excess &Obsolescent Materials

    Lean Practices

    Demand vs Supply Analysis

    Production capacity planning

    MPS / MRP / Production Scheduling

    Supplier Relationship Management

    Database Creation & Maintenance
