The Role eBay is looking for a seasoned Sr. Director, Performance Marketing to join their global growth organization. Based in San Jose, CA, this person will own the strategy & execution of all performance & customer marketing initiatives on a global scale.

  • This is a high impact leadership position. The Sr. Director, Performance & Customer Marketing will help accelerate eBay’s annual growth rate by implementing customer-centric growth strategies;
  • this includes driving both the strategy and execution of top-of-funnel lead generation, acquisition, and customer lifecycle marketing.

    The executive team is looking for a highly strategic, customer-focused, and entrepreneurial leader to join their team. Reporting into Sachin Devand , eBay’s VP of Growth, this individual will manage a significantly sized budget, and will participate fully in the definition and ongoing evolution of eBay’s global strategy and culture as part of the marketing leadership team.

    The successful candidate will be a highly strategic, seasoned and thoughtful leader who is able to observe new problems and identify ways to fix them.

    This candidate will be a problem solver who enjoys coming to the table with new ideas and innovative approaches to old ways of thinking.

    S / he will be highly collaborative, work effectively and efficiently across all functions, and will help drive a culture of partnership across eBay.

    They will be someone who has a successful track record of scaling businesses and overseeing full funnel growth teams, but who also has an understanding and appreciation for brand marketing.

    The ideal candidate will be familiar with the business of eBay and will personally connect to the mission of keeping customer-centricity at the forefront of everything they set out to accomplish.

    Primary Responsibilities : Develop and drive eBay’s overall growth and retention strategy, ensuring repeatable and scalable results, and communicating the strategy across all core functions Inspire, develop and continue to build eBay’s world-class acquisition and CRM teams by leading from the front and charting the course for robust and sustainable growth - clearly-set and communicate growth targets and drive towards execution Lead the acquisition efforts and develop channel strategies to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets with an eye toward cost-efficient growth Optimize the channel mix and customer journey through rigorous testing and experimentation Lead CRM efforts and help define cross-channel lifecycle marketing strategy across products leveraging email, SMS, direct mail and other channels to improve conversion throughout the funnel Identify high-potential channels to test and incorporate into the broader acquisition / retention plan Expand on existing customer segmentation to identify new customer segments and more effectively target new and existing customers Manage a significant budget and work across finance, business intelligence / data, and business ops teams to track, forecast and report on results to senior management and the board Collaborate cross functionally with product, engineering & infrastructure teams to facilitate relationships and partnerships across eBay Preferred Qualifications : 10+ years of marketing experience, with expertise building in-house, high performance digital marketing teams 10+ years of management experience leading high-functioning teams Broad functional skill-set with proven success collaborating across product, operations, engineering & leadership teams Excellent decision-making skills with a knack for identifying, prioritizing, and articulating the highest impact initiatives Prior experience successfully leading and inspiring diverse teams Execution-driven, growth-oriented, customer-centric ownership mindset to drive performance against agreed KPIs Deep insight into the digital sector Ability to develop strong cultures, lead groups of individuals effectively and manage cross- functional coordination Strong communication and presentation skills, adept at communicating simply and effectively in large or small group settings A strong project management & problem-solving track record - ability to think critically through unique problems with no set playbook and quickly implement a path to a solution Bachelor's degree required, MS / MBA preferred eBay Inc.
