CE&S Business Intelligence (CE&S BI) develops end-to-end data and insights solutions that enable the organization’s Connected Customer Experience strategy.
We are looking for an experienced Data Science Leader to build, develop, and manage a team of highly skilled data scientists and analysts, set vision & priorities to empower the team, and drive engineering discipline throughout our processes & deliverables.

Create & articulate the vision, drive prioritization, and guide technical approaches to develop scale AI / ML capabilities across our data estate to enable the Connected Customer Experience
Hire, develop and retain top data science & advanced analytics talent
Create and maintain our data science & analytics roadmap as part of the broader Digital Experience product / solutions roadmap
As a hands-on manager & coach, lead your team to build solutions in areas like predictive analytics, campaign measurement, next best actions, customer lifetime value, text mining / NLP, simulation etc.
Develop and manage relationships with cross functional teams and business leaders across the organization to understand objectives and identify opportunities.
Collaborate closely with other Microsoft Data Science teams and Data Engineering teams to deliver data-backed solutions.

Serve as a leader within the organization by creating clarity, inspiring others, and delivering high quality impact.

Required Qualifications :
8+ years of progressive experience delivering actionable business insights and delivering analytical solutions.
5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, recruiting and managing data scientists and advanced analytics specialists.
Excellent quantitative, data modeling, and statistical skills. Examples include algorithmic selection, ensemble optimization, causal inference, significance tests, hypothesis testing etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to synthesize complex problems / scenarios into easy-to-understand concepts.
Highly collaborative and effective in rapidly evolving environments.
Demonstrated interest and empathy for understanding customer scenarios and experiences.
Preferred Qualifications :
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
Fluent in tools for navigating and analyzing data (SQL, Azure Data Explorer, R, Python, Databricks, etc.)
Experience with machine learning algorithms for forecasting, clustering, classification, recommendation systems, NLP, etc.
Experience working in a data intensive environment and translating business needs into data requirements.
Understanding of Privacy and Compliance aspects of data storage & processing as it relates to GDPR and PII.
Initiative and passion for finding solutions to hard problems at scale and operationalization them.
Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
