Job Description

The Corporate Shared Services Center provides accounting services to the Americas region for Brightstar. The supporting functions include Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Reporting, Master Data Management, and Continuous Improvement.

These functions are enabled by Microsoft AX, Solomon and Oracle Hyperion. The center also provides support for certain transactions using legacy systems.

  • The Client Lead, General Accounting will be the single point of accounting contact with the client finance team, responsible for transactional operations and closing activities monthly and year end periods;
  • verifying correctness of account reconciliation and reporting. Must ensure policies and procedures are applied across relevant accounting treatments and verify HFM reporting is accurate.

    Verify and validate balance variances at month / year end periods, providing sound explanation and trustworthy information about financial statements.

    Must proactively flow accounting solutions to CFO and timely documentation and escalate any deviations to Region's Controller.

    In this position the leader will be the resident accounting expert problem solving interface for all three towers- P2P, O2C, R2R and ensure US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP adherence and SOX compliance in all accounting transactions.

    He / She will work with the center leaders to close the gap to the current Global Shared Service Operating Practices and Account Reconciliation Principles with the intent of converting current country practices to a standard Corporate platform of principles.

    Requirements / Skills

  • 6+ years of general accounting in Shared Services and team management experience within the Latam region
  • US GAAP & IFRS knowledgeable
  • Working knowledge of constructing and interpreting Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements
  • Beyond technical skills and relevant experience, the two most important personal attributes are curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Have a track record of driving results (go getter) and process discipline, with strong collaborative and proactive orientation towards clients and their service delivery needs
  • Attentive to detail and judgmental on decision taking
  • Manage workload and priorities independently meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Develop others and manages teams effectively
  • Experience in transformational projects, preferably the transformation of finance and the implementation of a shared service network
  • English & Spanish fluency with verbal and written communication skills
  • JDE / SAP / AX & HFM knowledge
  • Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting. CPA is a plus
