For more than 30 years, eBay has been the leader in ecommerce marketplace and now, eBay Ads is the voice in advertising on eBay for brands and sellers globally.

Our Client Strategy & Insights team rolls up to the eBay Ads organization. The Client Strategy & Insights team builds the case to clients to advertise on eBay.

We are insights partners to eBay sellers, advising them on their store performance and finding opportunities to adopt Promoted Listings.

From our first-party shopper data to third-party syndicated research, insights are the secret to our success and will drive our business into the future.

Whether you are helping sellers / brands understand their customers best, evaluating the success of their advertising campaigns, or fueling our storytelling efforts, you will be a crucial partner to our customer success, brand partnerships, operations and vertical teams.

This role reports into the Senior Manager, Insights.

The ideal candidate has a passion for finding a needle in a haystack and making the complex simple. You are not only comfortable getting deep in the data, you love discovering compelling insights and powerful stories in the numbers and finding a better way to do things.

Responsibilities

Use the power of eBay’s 1st party data to help clients understand how they can better engage on the eBay platform and adopt Promoted Listings, through rich data driven stories

We work on a range of client questions from making Promoted Listing recommendations, discovering how average sales price impacts a brand to what new buyers are purchasing on eBay, we serve as the data storytellers for our clients

Work with internal teams to identify new / growth opportunities across our various partner segments (verticals, brands, SMBs);

you will serve as a strategic consultant and data analyst while driving toward successful business outcomes.

Take ownership of scoping data needs from multiple partners, analyzing data, finding insights in the data and creating data driven stories

Become an expert in eBay data, creating new data methodologies, and identifying / resolving data issues

Manage / prioritize multiple requests at one time and deliver projects on time

Requirements

Looking for candidates with analytics experience in eCommerce, online marketplaces, or Consumer Packaged Goods related industries

Ability to make the complex simple and translate large amounts of data into compelling insights, data driven stories and presentations

5+ years of insights experience analyzing eCommerce data with a focus on analyzing sponsored ads; bonus points for serving in analytics / insights roles at a digital media publisher, ad tech company, research firm (comScore, Forester, Nielsen, etc.

or advertising agency.

Experience with SQL, along with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau and Domo; Salesforce Hive and Comscore a plus

Experience working with syndicated audience research and 3rd party data / insights partners

Proven ability to work across different functions, both technical and non-technical
