Coordinate the negotiation, procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies to meet business needs by performing the duties listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze the requirements for products / services, including preliminary specifications, demands, BOM, project scopes, use of preferred suppliers, etc.
  • to schedule products / services as needed to meet business needs.

  • Mentor Buyer / Planners as needed and be the first point of contact for escalation by helping troubleshoot, do root cause analysis (as appropriate), resolve issues, and escalating when appropriate per established guidelines.
  • Release and manage material requirements using MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals and other related planning data and processes.
  • Place and manage purchase orders and part parameters in accordance with business requirements, constraints, and guidelines.
  • Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, part parameters, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records and on-time payment to suppliers.
  • Analyze and interpret bills of material, project scopes, specifications, etc., to determine supply change needs.
  • Drive and support personal and team KPI improvement programs, including root cause analysis, supplier forecasts, maintenance of supplier stocking programs, etc.
  • Identify, investigate and / or interview potential suppliers to determine qualification.
  • Develop strategies, identify sources and solicit, evaluate and negotiate pricing to drive the lowest total cost for products / services, balancing price against the optimum quality, logistics, inventory, and schedule needs.
  • Implement purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
  • Support all activities related to procurement of products / services beginning with intent to purchase through delivery and payment of invoices.
  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and communicate those impacts to management as appropriate.
  • Analyze the impact of engineering change notices on the supply chain, focusing on costs and inventory implications and propose plans to mitigate those costs.
  • Support sourcing for new products as needed.
  • Execute Supplier Business Review (SBR) with Suppliers as assigned.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience in Supply Chain.
  • Professional certificate in purchasing management or production and inventory control a plus.
  • Five to seven years' experience in purchasing, production and / or inventory control-related activities.
  • Must be fluent in English and able to understand and converse with other stakeholders in Technology, Product Marketing, Business Unit Management, etc.
  • verbally and through written communication.

  • Ability to adapt to change and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain positive work relationships with work associates and suppliers.
