The Data Governance Business Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business processes with Process Owners and SMES (business & technical) to assess fulfillment of user requirements and to ensure adequate process controls are in place.
The Data Governance Business Analyst will work together with Business Process Owners, Data Stewards (business and technical) to design, formally document, implement and optimize processes using correct data sources, streamlining process steps, automating, and designing controls to ensure the processes meet overall business objectives. Additionally, the critical data elements used to perform he business process will need to be identified, mapped to process steps and formally documented in Collibra.
The Data Governance Business Analyst has knowledge of commonly-used design concepts, relational databases, and business process within a particular industry or solution area. Has ability to be cross-trained in business process, technology implementations, and adoption related activities. Relies on instructions from assigned project team to perform the functions of the job – instructions can be structured or at the discretion of the analyst based on guidelines and sometimes ad-hoc in nature, as needed to meet business objectives. The Business Analyst Works under the immediate supervision of the Data Quality & Governance project team, and is able to exercise independent judgment on small engagements or as a part of a teams.
