Reporting to the Dean of the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE), the Associate Dean, Academics is charged with oversight of operations related to instruction and academic programs in the college’s departments and schools.
The position has overall responsibilities in
oversees faculty evaluation, retention, and promotion process; promotes and supports research, scholarly, and creative activity (RSCA)
coordinates with university units (e.g., transition and retention services, student conduct, success centers, etc.) on student success initiatives
oversees administrative tasks related to curriculum; manages program assessment and accreditation
The Associate Dean is expected to engage in strategic planning and implementation of initiatives related to the mission and vision of the college and the university, including projects with regional, national, and international organizations.
Moreover, he / she helps ensure compliance with policies and procedures, researches issues, analyzes institutional data, prepares reports, recommends policy or procedural changes, and handles confidential problems that arise in the college.
The Associate Dean helps secure and administer financial, human and physical resources, particularly those for instruction, research, and student success.
Finally, the Associate Dean works in partnership with the Dean, Associate Dean for Professional and Global Education, and the college leadership team to ensure a positive, collaborative, productive, and forward-thinking culture in the college.
