Operate and maintain the facility in a manner that supports the goals and mission of the entire Abbott operation in Costa Rica understanding the needs of the organization and personnel while addressing challenging situations.
This position contributes to providing safe, consistent and productive environments and develop the lowest possible systems / component failures and the highest possible reliability at the lowest overall total cost for facilities critical systems (Electrical, HVAC, Water systems, Compressed air, Building).
Responsible for maintenance programs, building management systems, energy programs, site key services, contractor management, regulatory / quality compliance for facilities systems and support for construction projects.
Supervises a multidisciplinary team and accountable for annual operation planning and budgeting.

Implement facilities and utilities systems that maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all office, production and support areas.
Directly responsible for the following utilities maintenance, troubleshooting, redundancy and continuous improvement initiatives at the complete site : Vacuum / Compressed Air Systems, HVAC Systems, Power Systems, Water Systems, Building Management System and Infrastructure maintenance.
Responsible for site key services including cafeteria, employee transportation, security, janitorial and pest control.
Guarantee all facilities critical systems according to regulatory / quality compliance.
Implement security programs and systems that minimize employee security risk and loss of company property.
Support and execute annual Facilities capital and expense budget required to assist in achieving Operations, Divisions and the total corporate business goals.
Support EHS initiatives and programs that help reduce lost work time and injuries, insure employee safety awareness and compliance with safety standards.
Establish and maintain productive and economical vendor and outside contractor services in the areas of grounds and building maintenance, architectural engineering, construction, utilities and facilities equipment, safety, security and environmental.
Analyze and provide management recommendations and standards that improve infrastructure and services efficiency.
Supports and monitors construction activity in the plant.
Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties :
Support Emergency Management.
Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
Are you ready to join our family?
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field. 7+ years of working experience in facilities department management, including project, construction, and personnel management.
Computer knowledge in programs as Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Project, CMMS and Building Management Systems.
Preferred qualifications and education :
Master degree is a plus.
Desire field experience in all areas of facility operation in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Desire general knowledge and practical experience with ISO 13485, ISO 14001 Regulations and FDA.
Soft skills Competences :
Excellent motivation, planning, leadership, influence / negotiation, effective communications skills, critical thinking and initiative.
