Business Summary

VMware has an opportunity for a Sr. System Analyst to join the Commissions Finance Team in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

The Commissions Finance Sr. System Analyst will serve as a critical partner to IT, Bookings Ops, Sales Planning & Incentive, and Commission Finance Ops / Comp Administration.

The position is in the Costa Rica office and reports to the Senior Manager of Commissions Finance located in Palo Alto.

Job Role & Responsibility

  • Perform and drive processes to ensure data integrity, system accuracy, and strong change controls.
  • Drive towards excellence in streamlining System processes to eliminate rework and manual tasks.
  • Document and maintain the end-to-end Bookings to SAPC process flow in alignment with the Bookings and Crediting Policies.
  • Audit upstream bookings exceptions to ensure crediting and pay accuracy.
  • Support payment issues / escalations and partner with cross-functional teams to drive resolution and identify opportunities for preventative measures.
  • Support Comp Administration team system related activities.
  • Support upstream source systems issues / escalations for missing and incorrect data.
  • Participate in Regression and User Acceptance Testing for system plan implementation and updates.
  • Support successful production code migration for delivery of key enhancements and hotfixes.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process relating to commissions.
  • Ensure the sales compensation policies and SOX requirements are met along with maintaining the supporting and procedural documents.
  • Support ad hoc business requirements.
  • International Standard Time zones and weekend support may be required.
  • Required Skills

  • 5+ years of system support experience.
  • Experience with SAPC (Callidus) or other Sales Compensation software applications.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, v-lookups, data modeling etc.)
  • Experience with defect tracking tools.
  • Strong critical thinker with ability to identify issues before escalations.
  • Strong problem solving, organization, and process management skills.
  • Effective in meeting deadlines and executing with precision in a fast paced, ever evolving environment.
  • Must be able to work through various phases of projects and take them to successful completion from beginning to end.
  • Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, inspection techniques and testing procedures.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information System.
