Compliance Operations (C-Ops) is part of Health Safety Sustainability Security and Compliance (HSSSC) organization within Amazon.

C-Ops ensures that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements in compliance with guidelines set by regulatory bodies.

The team is designed to ensure Amazon is compliant in the online retail space. The team’s primary role is to provide operational services to ensure compliance in different import / export regulations across the different NA and LAM Market Places.

The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on shipment of the product and catalog selection.

The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on shipment of the product and catalog selection. We are looking for a strong leader to drive a team of 15-20 associates to ensure proper coordination and expectations from our internal customers and stakeholders are met.

We are looking for a talented Global Trade Manager who has direct experience with global customs regulations, supply chains and executing compliance strategies in a fast paced environment.

Roles and Responsibility :

Global Trade Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting an operations teams to ensure import / export compliance with regulations in different countries in which Amazon operates. Specific duties include :

  • Manage a team of 15-20 associates to ensure high service delivery and execution Supervision of a team with 15-20 associates.
  • People development and process overview.
  • Work with Program Teams in implementation of new operational activities, including training, SOP development, etc.
  • Creation of controls and KPI’s to ensure compliance with Program and Operational requirements.
  • Partner with other Compliance teams for risk mitigation.
  • Creation and monitoring of Career Growth Plans.
  • Creation of Action and Improvement Plans for gaps identified in production or associates’ performance.
  • People Management (leadership role, Category Lead, team management, talent development and retention) including the creation and monitoring of Career Growth Plans and Improvement Plans for gaps identified in production or associates’ performance.
  • Mentor and guide Quality lead / Process Expert to manage quality, improve process efficiency and minimize variation, conceptualize, design and deliver trainings to the team

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Customs, Global Trade, Supply Chain or a business related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing people and interacting with customers and stakeholders.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Global Trade or other Compliance areas.
  • Ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analysis.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and influence work behaviors.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical capability.
