Amazon seeks an experienced Finance Manager to support Payroll Reporting and Analytics for the Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team.
FOAA performs accounting and analysis services and our primary customers are Finance Operations and Central Accounting. This position will be located in Costa Rica and will partner with the FOAA Payroll Global Process Owner (GPO’s) to deliver global initiatives, automated reporting and analytics, and define and improve controllership related to payroll global accounting standards.
The ideal candidate is a highly proactive self-starter with a strong accounting background, problem solving skills and attention to detail who will take ownership and drive positive change including evaluating and streamlining existing operational and accounting processes, reports, controls and metrics.
This role requires strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust quickly depending on targeted audience.
Key responsibilities include :
Understand analytical and reporting needs of FOAA Payroll GPO and service center teams and drive automation w / BIE team
Manage payroll reporting and analytics deliverables within agreed upon SLA's established with GPO
Automate reporting and analytics and create a centralized, self-service platform
Manage process around relationships with input providers (Financial Operations) to ensure quality and timing of deliverables
Review monthly commentary for payroll to ensure consistency, completeness, and timeliness
Partner with Service Center teams to document month-end close issues; make recommendations for improved controls, as necessary
Report on the health of the month-end close, operational and reporting processes - create scorecard on inputs and outputs metrics
Power User for Hyperion Reports - create templates and schedule monthly reports as well as ad hoc analysis (GL data only)
BA / BS in Accounting or similar degree
8+ years of large corporation accounting, finance and / or related systems experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
Preferred qualifications :
Degree in Accounting, or CPA (or equivalent)
MBA, MS in Accounting
Planning and analysis
Public accounting and / or operational accounting experience in Finance
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, growing and ambiguous environment
Advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of financial reporting and data mining tools (Cognos, Essbase, SQL, etc.), Machine Learning
Experience working with big data sets and gleaning insights through rigorous analysis
A proven track record of sound decision-making, taking ownership and delivering results
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused, professional demeanor
