Your Responsibilities :

The Hub Regional Close and Controls Director is accountable for the performance of a finance team with high degree of transition and adjustment whilst sustaining high quality standards supporting the relevant Regional Business Unit (US, Other NA or LATAM) by delivering right first-

time reporting and analysis which is insightful, fast and supports the business to develop accurate plans in a strong controls and assurance environment.

The Hub Regional Close and Controls Director will be responsible for managing large regional teams under its business unit across different countries in a complex multi-

layer organisational structure, engaging with senior stakeholders (escalation point of contact for the business).

Working within our technology enabled finance hub, the Regional Finance Close & Control Director will play a key role in creating a high performing team responsible for delivering Close and Control activities for Americas (North America and LATAM) markets as well as delivering more complex accounting activities.

  • Accountable for the reporting of financial results for their regional business segment with commentary including income, balance sheet and cash flow which is accurate, complete and :
  • o Fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practices and any other regulations

    o Consistently applies accounting policies which are appropriate to the current business environment

    o Compliant with all aspects of the internal / external financial control environment

    o Delivers insight to the business in key areas of risk, growth and performance making recommendations for continuous improvements and remedial action as required

  • Consolidation, analysis and interpretation of regional business segment results.
  • Owns the Regional balance sheets
  • Contribute into regional business review meetings as appropriate
  • Drive improvement to the delivery of Regional Business Unit service including local, regional and third-party teams under its remit
  • Lead a team of Controllers and Finance Professionals always in alignment with GSK Values & Expectations, drive individual & team performance, ensure recruitment of staff at the required calibre / skills & experience, develop / coach / mentor your team members and create strong succession plans for key roles while fostering engagement and motivation in the team.
  • Basic qualifications :

  • Qualified accountant-Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive post qualification experience, preferably within a similar operating model and the same sector
  • Finance Controller experience
  • More than 10 years operational experience in Controllership, Planning & Reporting
  • Experience in building high performing and remote organisation / large teams
  • Strong expertise in local and global accounting principles and ensure they are applied to the financial statements.
  • Proficient level of problem solving & innovation is required
  • Previous experience of working with Finance Systems (SAP / JDE / SUN)
  • Expert role for a technical accounting area
  • Remote collaborative working environment
  • Solid analytical Skills
  • Excellent commercial acumen to drive business value with market specific insight of financial data
  • Excellent ability to interpret and present financial data using analytical and statistical modelling to facilitate decision making and provide recommendations
  • Excellent understanding of I.T systems that are used in the planning & forecasting cycles with the ability to develop & grow super users in the team
  • Ability to work in culturally diverse teams and reconcile cultural differences
  • English Level : C1
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Portuguese and / or French will be considered a plus.
  • Finance Business Partner experience
  • FMCG / Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
