We need an experienced technology change expert to partner with technical leads and project managers to develop colleague-centered communication and readiness content and enable colleagues to succeed in adopting the new technology.

Our goal is to consistently evolve our focus on colleague experience for 42,000 people around the world, including our own team framework and processes.

Depending on the project, we may facilitate an audience analysis, needs assessment, or a just-in-time technical demonstration, among other activities.

We anticipate colleague reactions and are skilled at matching the resources with the audience to ensure they have what they need to succeed, when they need it and in a channel they prefer.

What is primary need, technical challenge, and / or problem you will be responsible for?

We need an experienced technology change expert to partner with technical leads and project managers to develop colleague-centered communication and readiness content and enable colleagues to succeed in adopting the new technology.

Success in the Role : What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Complete training in corporate brand and writing standards and make introductions with your business partners (week 1). Pair with Service Delivery on projects in flight to learn work context, processes, communication channels and business partners (weeks 2-4).

Collaborate with colleagues in Service Delivery, UCC, and PMO to enable a new technology change process flow for CET UCC software upgrades using feedback loops and experiment with process to improve using feedback (weeks 5-12).

Shadow Senior Business Change Specialist, pair on change activities, and work increasingly independently on more complex projects (weeks 13-30).

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Most of your time will be spent generating and executing technology change strategies for technical experts and project managers in VMware IT, Colleague Experience and Technology as part of the Service Delivery team.

You’ll facilitate stakeholder engagement and assist on project management activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time, adoption goals are successful, and metrics are reported and archived.

The audience for most projects will be some or all VMware employees around the world.

Develop relevant project training and communications. Manage marketing and adoption activities such as web events, promotions and content, colleague engagement, content for alternative channels including video, email, blogs we meet people where they’re at.

As a remote team member, you’ll connect, collaborate and consult with technical leads, project managers, and team members through a number of virtual collaboration tools.

Spend time learning VMware’s collaboration products and improving your professional skills. We want you to be curious, learning both from team members and individual study.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The hiring manager is Julia Gregson, Senior Manager in Colleague Experience and Technology. Her expertise in people-centered change and leadership has been built over 25 years in technology, from the front lines in desktop, server, and hosted email administration to enterprise helpdesk management, mergers and acquisitions program management, global communications and services operations.

She is also a Gallup Strengths coach and loves helping people achieve their career goals. The team is composed of three change management professionals and two change delivery experts.
