Job Summary
The Resource and Operations Specialist - People Operations will collaborate with the leadership of four service teams to assist with planning, building, and retaining high-performing teams of 60+ administrators, staff (licensed and non-licensed), faculty, contractors, interns, and students with SJSU’s Student Wellness Center (SWC).
Reporting to the Director of Care Experience and Operations, the Specialist is part of the Resource and Operations Team charged with optimizing the Student Health Fee funds that facilitate Student Wellness Center operations.
The critical work of this role involves driving the annual schedule of people operations activities to ensure the organization can meet key objectives each semester, leading recruitment efforts with supportive and effective facilitation, navigating a complex union and licensed staffing environment to develop and retain employees, and modeling a positive work culture within all aspects of people operations.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate SWC recruitments, onboarding, leave time reporting, payroll reporting, and off-boarding of administrators, staff (licensed and non-licensed), faculty, interns, and students
Coordinate timely completion of performance-, position-, and licensure-management activities for administrators, staff (licensed and non-licensed), faculty, and students
Collaborate with SWC leadership to enhance organization culture through employee rewards, recognition, engagement, and well-being
Ensure compliance with workplace employee health and safety measures, labor laws, and union contracts
Maintain critical people operations knowledge, including employee and organization records, and the annual schedule of key people operations deliverables

Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and / or equivalent training
Four years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and / or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, management, health education, health sciences, or related field
2 years of experience in a people operations role within a union environment or university
2 years of experience working within wellness or healthcare organization
Experience working with safety measures and / or labor laws
Compensation
Classification : Administrative Analyst / Specialist Exempt II
Anticipated Hiring Range : $6,180 / month - $6,300 / month
CSU Hiring Range : $4,693 / month - $8,489 / month
