Responsibilities
Design, develop, optimize, and implement antenna systems for millimeter wave wireless technologies
Define system architecture, drive prototyping, and enable production
End to end System modeling, simulation and performance analysis of composite channels including Package, PCB, Antenna structures, Dielectric layers, millimeter wave wireless channelWorking closely with System / IC architects to define simulation benches, modeling specifications and simulation test plansAbility to abstract various sub-sections of the composite channel and generate simulation models Comprehension and modeling the channel properties including losses, reflection, crosstalk, mode conversion, 2D / 3D near field / far field antenna radiation effects, channel characteristics, material tolerance, position variations etc.
Generate reference channel models for system level performance assessment and simulation of Wireless interface products
Close Collaboration with silicon and package designers to satisfy SI, PI and EM requirements
Hands-on, in the lab verification of millimeter wave measurement test beds and composite channels
Providing expert advice on integration guidelines and solutions to System partners and customers
Interface with cross-functional teams to define requirements and features of future products
Be a responsive and flexible team player; succeed in an openly collaborative peer environment
Candidate Profile :
7+ years of relevant Antenna System Engineering modeling, simulation and measurement experience
Prior experience of designing and validating 5G and mmWave antennas in mobile and computing products
Prior experience in designing and validating RF modules for 5G and mmWave applications
Channel modeling, IBIS-AMI model development and system level simulations
Experience in building mathematical models of complex electromagnetic systems
Fluent and proficient in EM simulation tools, such as HFSS, FEKO, CST, COMSOL, ADS, and / or XFDTD
Build EM simulation infrastructure and tools to maximize productivity and efficiency.
System-level modeling experience with MATLAB / Simulink or similar
Experience using lab equipment for high-speed characterization VNA, TDR, real-time scope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
Hands-on experience in extracting S-parameter models from packages, antennas, and PCBs, converting them into behavioral compatible circuit models, and assessing the performance in frequency and time domains using simulation tools
Working knowledge of package, PCB materials and PCB stack-up
Prior High Speed / RF / millimeter wave product development experience (concept to high volume production)
Strong technical knowledge in 2D and 3D electromagnetic modeling, transmission line theory, EM propagation, Near field and Far field effects
Good interpersonal, verbal / presentation and written communication skills
Education & Experience
Preferred : PhD in Electromagnetics, Physics, or equivalent field
Typical : M.S. + 5 years of directly relevant experience
Required : B.S. + 7 years of directly relevant experience
Experience in antenna design, simulation, optimization, prototyping, tuning, and measurement
Knowledge of crucial antenna concepts, such as input impedance, impedance matching, antenna isolation, interference, gain, polarization, radiation pattern, link-budget analysis, beamforming, phased array architecture, frequency spectrum, multi-band operation
Familiarity with antenna manufacturing processes and materials
Electromagnetics, antennas, microwaves, coding, and numerical analysis courses taken
Excellence in communications
