Amazon Enterprise Engineering is seeking a talented, strategic-minded Systems Development Manager to lead our Printing Services and Applications-as-Content team.

This manager will deliver tooling and automation supporting hundreds of thousands of customers for printing and streaming applications, while developing our offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

This leader self-motivates, possesses strong interpersonal skills, has experience leading large-scale initiatives, and comes from a background in Systems Engineering or Development.

    Our team includes some remote teams and individuals, but this position will use Heredia, Costa Rica as it’s home region.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience

    5+ years of experience managing system or software development teams

    5+ years as a software engineer, system engineer, or site reliability engineer

    2+ years engineering or managing Multi-Function Devices (Print / Copy / Scan)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years managing vendor relationships
  • Expertise in operational excellence, security compliance, and distributed systems’ resiliency.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices in a full development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Proficiency in one or more general languages such as Java, C# , Python, JavaScript, Ruby, and Go.
  • Expertise in operations of highly available and scalable systems with a large customer base.
  • Experience managing staff and meetings across multiple sites and time zones.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics
  • Ability to drive effective teamwork, collaboration and commitment
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience developing and improving operational documentation, procedures and workflows
  • Ability to credibly coordinate between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
  • Experience managing on-call support coverage, escalation and critical issue management
  • Experience in contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment
  • Experience in root cause analysis and implement long term fixes to avoid repeating issues
