Thomson Reuters supply chain is supported by the Operations function through the Global Sourcing Organization. As part of the Sourcing Operations team, the Tactical Buyer will be working with Sourcing Category Managers globally enabling the appropriate execution of Regional and Global Strategies.

Also, this person will work with internal customers and will sometimes require interaction with suppliers. This role proactively removes process barriers and provides best in class customer experience by solving problems in a fast and accurate fashion.

The Tactical Buyer is responsible for managing the day to day workflow of requests for support from users in need of guidance with the Source to Pay systems and functionalities.

Also, he or she enables the education of internal customers by documenting existing processes and by leading individuals or groups in live training sessions, either in person, phone or via WebEx conference.

It is also expected from the person in this role to demonstrate full understanding of the Source to Pay process, so that all requests are either taken care from the first contact or rerouted to the correct teams and given appropriate and timely follow up until they get fully resolved.

  • Previous work experience in a Source to Pay function (P2P, AP, Procurement, Vendor Management)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Customs, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Full understanding of Procurement & Payments processes and practices.
  • Intermediate MS Excel level.
  • Analytical Skills.
  • Fully bilingual English-Spanish.
  • Portuguese proficiency desired
  • Excellent written and oral Communication Skills.
  • Tolerance to change and rapid adaptability.
  • Full adherence to Company Policies.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and confident. Comfortable to work independently under minimum supervision, as well as within a team.
  • Able to balance many tasks and conflicting priorities. Able to negotiate conflict.
  • Knowledge of SAP P2P Modules. SAP Ariba experience is required.
  • Training skills are highly desirable.
  • Sourcing and Negotiation skills are highly desirable.
