The Opportunity

Developing a clear and impartial perspective on marketing performance is central to guiding marketing efforts toward those with the greatest business impact.

This role will lead a world-class practice area guiding B2B and B2C marketing investment through in-house developed marketing mix models and simulators.

The biggest opportunity for this team is to leverage the deep analytical tools and marketing insights to identify opportunities to drive revenue growth through marketing and product investment.

This includes ongoing optimization of long-running marketing motions (e.g. TV, Search), as well as innovative thinking to identify new areas of investment (e.

g. product culturalization, pricing)

What you'll Do

This role owns an industry leading Marketing Planning and Analytics practice area covering Adobe’s B2C and B2B businesses.

The practice area partners across global marketing / finance / sales organizations to align and optimize marketing investment to achieve business objectives.

Core capabilities are built on Adobe-developed Marketing Mix Modeling platform and simulation engines which evaluate and optimize the performance of marketing investments across multiple vectors.

The insights produced by this team are essential to core business planning processes. The business success realized from the recommendations coming from this team have increased the demand for insights across new categories and business models.

It has also opened opportunities to productize these capabilities into the Adobe Digital Experience suite of solutions.

This practice is one of the most strategically important organizations in the marketing organization. It serves as the bridge between the Marketing and Finance organizations and serves a trusted third party to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities.

Central to this role is translating sophisticated planning process outputs into concrete recommendations. In place already is a sophisticated team of marketing performance analysts, as well as an econometrics and data science organizations to develop the next-generations of marketing mix models.

  • Deliver concrete quarterly and yearly marketing mix investment recommendations linked to specific marketing actions and campaigns
  • Provide frequent reads on marketing ROI’s across channels / campaigns / objectives.
  • Guide strategic tradeoffs on short term revenue versus long-term category growth investment opportunities.
  • Review opportunities to further expand model coverage to explain sales trends with additional data on customer, product, new marketing channels, or even external signals.
  • Partner with teams to bridge planning models into weekly targets to appropriately incentivize growth behaviors to support organizational goals.
  • Develop measurement / pro-forma estimates for new motions not yet supported by historical models.
  • There is a long list of requests to scale the above further through additional model development, or by re-thinking existing workflows.

    Prioritization will be guided by balancing effort and value to the business.

  • Scaling modeling and planning simulations across B2C customer segment portfolios, in addition to existing business line and market area coverage.
  • Delivering an incremental net-revenue marketing contribution mix model which combines acquisition mix models with customer engagement tools.
  • Incorporate category and brand equity health drivers into models to disaggregate drivers of the core business.
  • Roll-out next generation B2B Mix models to support opportunity / pipeline optimization as well as bookings and retention
  • What is needed to succeed

  • BS / BA with 10+ years tech or management consulting experience
  • Experience in Marketing Mix Models, econometrics, Financial Planning and Analysis workflows (FP&A), operations research, or long-range planning.
  • Ability to quickly deliver executive-level presentations / communications which enable us to uplevel and act on data and insights real-time
  • An understanding of services marketing / ecommerce / subscription business models
  • A consulting background, or familiarity with consultative approaches to problem solving.
  • Familiarity working in matrixed organizational environments.
