Job Description

The AtR Senior Analyst will be responsible for executing Blackline System Admin activities, such as Import Subledger extract templates, assign accounts to teams, prepares and approvers, request temporary user, role, team or temporary user access, Identify unassigned accounts, etc.

As well will be responsible for executing Accounting to Reporting (AtR) activities such as Month end closing operations, Audit, Legal requirements and SoX documentation, Balance sheet reconciliation and open items follow up, etc.

The objective of this role is to maintain a high standard of performance, analysis and follow up of all activities assigned to the AtR team, ensuring all the activities are completed and accurate.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Leads multiple Blackline implementation projects with little supervision
  • Lead and support all project and enhancements related to the Blackline application
  • Maintain Blackline SOX IT compliance by executing system access controls according to the WI and performing security access reviews and providing evidence to internal audit
  • Blackline troubleshoot end-user issues related to access or system functionality
  • Prepare documentation and reports for audit purpose
  • Execute AtR processes across all America’s markets recording them into the ERP System ensuring compliance with all quality and control requirements
  • Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of MSD’s financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls
  • Certify Balance Sheet Account reconciliations and follow-up of open items
  • Populate all manual trackers related to AtR processing
  • Monthly reconcile GL with sub ledgers of Accounts Payable, Receivables and Fixed Assets
  • Achieve required accuracy on all defined KPIs and SLA’s
  • Work closely with other team members to effectively manage workload and gain exposure to multiple finance and business disciplines within MSD
  • Update pre-closing report, perform first analysis of numbers and coordinate meetings with markets and identify additional actions whenever necessary for final close submission of numbers to corporate
  • Review and sign off of the final financial package and the Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting department of a multinational company including demonstrated experience in dealing with US and ex-
  • US accounting (Pharmaceutical industry a plus)

  • Business-level English and Spanish language skills (speaking and writing) required
  • Experience in Blackline Administrator required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an account to report
  • Team player with a focus on collaboration
  • Ability to operate independently and navigate through change or uncertainty
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive management style to implement new processes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development
  • Demonstrated experience in shared services and / or migrations projects (knowledge transfer, process documentation, project management, status reporting and stakeholder relationship management)
  • Technical Skills Requirements

  • Controllership / Internal controls knowledge SOX based
  • ERP system experience and competency (SAP required)
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under pressure and with a high degree of professionalism
  • Blackline System Administrator experience and competency required
  • Ability to operate independently and remain focused through change or uncertainty and with a team in a fast-paced and high-
  • volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive management style to implement new processes
  • Willingness and be flexible to business travel.
