Job Description :

The Lead PowerBuilder Developer serves as the primary developer of new application systems. You will be involved with all aspects of software and product lifecycle management for the Medical Solutions Division of 3M.

This may include assisting with requirements definition, analyzing technical design alternatives, creating technical designs, coding, creating documentation, and collaborating with the SQA team to verify quality of the code.

To ensure success as a Lead Power Builder Developer you should have extensive experience in analytics, coding, technical design and high-level problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to understand requirements, create technical designs, perform coding, create documentation and assisting to validate the quality of the code.

Here, you will make an impact by :

Developing software solutions by understanding information needs of the Medical Solutions Division business.

Advocating and enhancing the Agile software development lifecycle.

Determining operational feasibility of solution designs by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

Developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

Determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

Conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

Studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

May manage small team of software engineers by providing advice, coaching, mentoring, and assisting to resolve complex technical or design issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Business or related field (completed and verified prior to start).

8 years experience as an applications developer in private, public, government, or military environments (large and small projects).

8 years experience with PowerBuilder from version 12.5 and higher (experience analyzing, diagnosing, coding, testing and implementing)

Experience in SQL - PL / SQL(stored procedures, functions, triggers and writing packages)

Proficient in Microsoft Project, MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Understand all aspects of software development lifecycle.

Understand various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall etc).

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

Experience with Oracle DB and PL / SQL.

Java and / or .Net application development excperience
