3M is seeking a Developer for the Finance Controllers Technology and Automation Team. This position will be located in Belen, Heredia as part of our Global Service Center in Costa Rica.

Job Summary

This position is responsible on handling a variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries. The role has a considerable impact on the direct work group / team, providing technical coaching and leadership to co-workers.

Performs complex research and analysis as well as investigates business needs with respect to information management. Directs and coordinates efforts to maintain and upgrade current systems.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

Adapts differing techniques and methods to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex problems.

Leads the development and implementation of improvements and / or solutions to work processes and tools.

Initiates actions and leads or coaches employees during a project or trains new employees within functional disciplines.

Handles a wide variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries where the solution is not immediately apparent. Most complex problem solving may require developing solutions for complex and diverse issues that may be interrelated, requiring significant interpretation and the use of strong analytical skills.

Applies extensive experience and knowledge of related and non-related precedents and policies

Working tasks might include :

Architecture Support.

Technical Peer Review, Mentoring and Coaching.

Experience in Agile Methodology and usage of tools like JIRA.

Experience using versioning tools such as TFS, Git, subversion.

Experience in Data Services and workflow creation.

Exposure to HP Service Management & HP Quality Center.

Conducts peer review of developed objects.

Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance.

Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.

Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints.

Negotiates and counsels at an advanced level with an audience which may not be knowledgeable in the subject area. Demonstrates solid persuasion skills and manages differing interests and perspectives.

Actively participates in relevant corporate programs / initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards.

General Qualifications / Experience :

IT Bachelor level university / college degree.

3+ years relevant working experience in IT related field.

Functional knowledge on Finance and finance related processes.

Must be detail oriented, self-directed and have strong independent problem-solving skills.

Strong project leadership and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of information technology opportunities and the ability to evaluate ideas and make proposals.

Ability to multi-task is inherent in the job responsibilities.

Ability to team working is inherent in the job responsibilities.

Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish.

Must be able to travel internationally if needed.

Technical Qualifications / Experience :

3+ year of relevant working experience developing Web applications (C#, VB, ColdFusion or similar technologies)

Experience working with .Net frameworks such as EF, MVC, ASP

Strong understanding of MVC, OOP, Design Patterns, Transactional Programing, Threads and other related technologies.

Working Knowledge with integration services such as SSIS.

Experience in Microsoft SQL Scripting using various Data Type extension, Variables, Procedures, Triggers, Joins, Modeling Language and Best Practices.

Experience with multiple types of Databases including, SQL, Oracle, DB2, Hana and Snowflake

Web applications design and architecture (back end / Front end)

Knowledge working with IIS application servers and Web Services.

Other desired Technical Qualifications :

Experience working with ColdFusion Web Development (cfm, cfc, Custom Tags, etc.)

Working knowledge of Front-end development including the following technologies : JS, jQuery, Ajax and JSON

Working knowledge in PeopleSoft (Oracle), AS400, SAP HANA or Snowflake.

Functional knowledge working with Cloud services (Azure)

Microsoft Office Suite Excel

Working Knowledge of ITIL methodology.

Experience with Data Analytics Languages (R, Python)

Knowledge in reporting tools such as Power bi / Fiori.
