Position interacts with different stakeholders in the related countries and the region in functions like Finance, Operations, Businesses, plus external counsels hired to assist in tax compliance matters,plus with Corporate Tax New York as well as with Regional Finance representatives.

  • Key responsibilities :

    This position consists ofcarrying out tax compliance and tax accounting functionsincluding :

  • Preparation and filing of tax returns and payments including income and non-income taxes, VAT, withholding taxes, and related accounting matters (provision, current and deferred, account reconciliation interacting with e-
  • Recon, tax rate analysis, etc.) for countries covered by the LATAM Tax Centralization Unit (TCU) with a proficiency level that requires minimum supervision from the manager.

  • Monthly current and deferred tax liability calculation, basing on data provided by Finance and its verification, journal posting.
  • Reconciliation of the tax balances on the ledger & effective tax rate analysis.
  • Tax reporting for internal purposes.
  • Provisions calculation
  • Interaction with different stakeholders in the related countries and the region in functions like Finance, Operations, Businesses, plus external counsels hired to assist in tax compliance matters,plus with Corporate Tax New York as well as with Regional Finance representatives.
  • Research, review and audit responsibilities for all countries related taxes.
  • Design and implementation of solutions aimed at optimizing the projects / processes
  • Act as a key player on driving and leading significant improvements and reengineering initiatives across the different processes the department manages.

  • Knowledge / Experience :

  • Graduate in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Business Administration
  • Previous tax experience for at least 3 years
  • Daily work in international environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial sector accounting and systems would be an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of suggesting pragmatic solutions to problems and conclude where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate experience of working to multiple deadlines.
  • Be able to work unsupervised on day to day responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate experience of working as part of a team to achieve team goals
  • Demonstrate ability to manage a number of different issues and be able to manage own time appropriately.
  • Demonstrate an ability to quickly understand new technical issues.
  • Qualifications :

  • Graduate degree in finance, accounting, or directly related field.And / or Tax specialization degree.
  • Preferable to have knowledge on US GAAPs accounting, FATCA and Transfer Pricing rules.
  • Previous Tax Compliance experience related to one or some of the following LATAM countries : Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama and Venezuela.
  • Preferable to have work experience on US multinationals
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
