The Shared Services Center provides accounting services to the Americas region for Brightstar. The supporting functions include Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Reporting, Master Data Management, and Continuous Improvement.
These functions are enabled by Microsoft AX, Solomon and Oracle Hyperion. The center also provides support for certain transactions using legacy systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for transactional operations and closing activities monthly and year end per; verifying correctness of reconcilaition and reporting for Assets, Liabilities, Equity and overall accounts.
Must ensure policies and procedures are applied across relevant accounting treatments and verify HFM reporting is accurate.
Verify and validate balance variances at month / year end and provide sound explanation and ensure action plans are place if needed.
Must proactively flow accounting solutions to CFO and timely document and escalate any deviations to Region's Controller.
Ensure US GAAP adherence and SOX compliance in all accounting transactions.
Lead and manage the month close process to ensure key deadlines are completed according to Global Calendar.
Analyzing general ledger activities to ensure compliance with Brightstar corporate policies (as well as compliance with local / country regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, supporting quarterly Financial reports and Regional analytic.
Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries (including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, intercompany), and work with subsidiary CFO / Finance Directors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
Drive the US GAAP reporting process through timely & accurate submission. Act as an escalation point during the close and act as a final reviewer of US GAAP financial data / submissions to HFM (Hyperion) to ensure accuracy.
Responsible for certain close related communications including updates to senior leadership.
Lead monthly meetings, in anticipation of final submission, with local markets and document explanation of variances / swings in Financial Statements.
Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and follow through to ensure proper accounting treatment in line with US GAAP and Brightstar policies.
Ensures all KPI are executed, met and remediate gaps to ensure outages are eliminate
Responsible for right US GAAP adherence and SOX compliance in all accounting transactions and ensures team productivity and continuous improvement.
Requirements / Skills
6+ years of general accounting in Shared Services and management experience
US GAAP & IFRS knowledgeable
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Manage workload and priorities independently meeting aggressive deadlines
Develop others and manages teams effectively
Strong Negotiation, analytic and interpersonal skills
Experience in transformational projects, preferably the transformation of finance and the implementation of a shared service network, preferred.
English & Spanish fluency
Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting. CPA is a plus
