About the role
Bacardi Soluciones Corporativas, SA (Bacardi), Bacardi’s global shared services center based in San Jose, Costa Rica, is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven and interested in a leadership position within the organization.
The Tax Clerk position is an important role to ensure the tax compliance of the company and the role will be responsible to perform transactional level tasks, generating reports, performing month end close tax activities, preparation of tax returns and other tax compliance external and internal processes for the company in Latin America and US.
The tax clerk should become knowledgeable in tax rules, local compliance and filing requirements, should prepare the paperwork for tax returns and any information required to prepare the returns as per local requirements and assist the tax analyst to make sure those returns and obligations are filed timely and accurately.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Extraction and review of data from SAP for the preparation of the local filings and tax requirements.
Responsible for the quality and timely submission of the data the supports the tax filings and requirements.
Assist on the timely submission and delivery of tax returns / reports and all supporting documentation before the Tax Authorities.
Control and monitor that the tax payments are done timely.
Assist with the reconciliation of the tax GL accounts versus the tax filings on a monthly and yearly basis.
Keep updated the Desktop Manuals (DTM) with the tax processes and flows of information.
Keep control and upload in a single repository all the documentation that supports the tax filings-returns.
Coordination with BBS of any information required for the filings and ensuring that the information received from BBS is correct for the purpose of the filings and returns.
Assist with the internal tax controls to ensure tax filings quality and timely submission.
Measures of success
Data extraction from SAP timely and accurately.
Tax filings and returns are filed timely and accurately.
Tax payments are done timely and accurately.
Assist with the account reconciliations timely
Keep updated the tax process documentation.
Manage the internal controls for the tax processes.
Upload in a single repository the documentation that supports the tax filings-returns timely.
Critical experiences for success
To be successful in this role you will have / be :
Educational requirements : Accounting technician degree, bachelor s degree or advanced studies in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Basic knowledge of enterprise systems (SAP) desired but not mandatory.
Advanced with the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel) and MS SharePoint. (proficient in excel is a must)
Previous accounting experience beyond tax : 1 year at least.
Previous experience in tax filings-reporting tax returns : preferable
Previous experience with SAP is a must.
Analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Attention to details.
Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work assigned.
Advance English skills.
