Main Purpose of Role

The cost analyst helps drive business results by providing cost-focused decision support analysis to leaders in finance, operations, and other functions.

The cost analyst role is to be an indispensable partner with our internal customers by providing insightful cost analysis across the brand / sector / mill to ensure cost optimization, best in class forecasting, and challenge the business to enable delivery of objectives.

Our customers expect effective, efficient management of cost to deliver forecast, and active assistance in developing gap management plans.

It is also expected to participate in the implementation and ongoing management of tools, scorecards and processes that challenge and identify cost opportunities across mills and sectors.

Business Priorities and Key Accountabilities

Business Priorities :

  • Add value to the business by being an indispensable partner of Operations, Business Analysis and Supply Chain teams, reassuring the optimization of cost, by developing and executing plans to achieve desired financial objectives
  • Role Accountabilities :

  • Develop and analyze cogs forecasts that incorporates cost transformation initiatives, key projects, and cost drivers. Develop and recommend appropriate gap management plans within budget as required.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze monthly variances, identify potential risks, and help to recognize possible mitigation plans.
  • Impulse IBP mindset within Operations team.
  • Elaborate and analyze monthly and bi weekly follow up of COGS performance versus outlook.
  • Continuously evaluate effectiveness of cost initiatives and provide visibility of key deviations.
  • Understand standard cost variations and ensure inclusion on projections.
  • Participate in capability improvement projects & training initiatives
  • Support Corporate Quarterly AOC analysis and submission Controllers letter.
  • Validate and challenge Cost transformation key initiatives.
  • Ad hoc analysis on different cost initiatives such as and not limited to cost savings, innovations, Benchmark and leadership requirements.
  • Contribute to an environment in which team members feel valued and included, respected for their individual differences and motivated to fully utilize their capabilities in achieving desired business results.
  • Essential Knowledge / Experience

  • Professional and degree qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant business experience.
  • Working knowledge of cost, budgeting and forecasting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Inter-personal and communication skills necessary to motivate and mentor others as well as maintain a strong working relationship with senior management and other functions within KC.
