Job Description :

VMware is seeking a Customer Success Engineer (CSE) to help our vRealize suite customers deploy, customize, integrate, and use our products to optimize management of their virtual infrastructure with a primary focus on vRealize Operations Manager.

As a CSE you will own and manage multiple concurrent ongoing customer engagements in both on premise and SaaS deployments.

CSEs work closely with engineering and product management to drive product improvements and direction based on their customer focused experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist customers with designing and scaling new and existing deployments.
  • Assist customers with new integrations and troubleshooting problematic integrations.
  • Training customers about various aspects of vRealize products.
  • Assist Global Support Services, Professional Services and Sales Engineers to diagnose and trouble-shoot escalated customer issues and then orchestrate Engineering hot-fix and maintenance release creation and testing for vRealize products.
  • Develop custom solutions and package custom solutions for customers.
  • Assist customers with upgrades.
  • Perform on-prem vRealize upgrades.
  • Assist customer with training and in depth implementation of vRealize Operations Manager features such as Work Load Placement, Supermetrics, and Dashboards.
  • Occasional internal and onsite customer visits may be required.
  • Assisting customers migrate between SaaS and on premise implementations.
  • Install and configure VMware management packs and partner management packs.
  • Implement proof of concept deployments for customers and VMware internal needs.
  • Create, test and document enterprise readiness functionality.
  • The ideal candidate must be a great problem solver with excellent communication skills, people-skills are a must as well as willingness to develop a wide breadth of hands-on technical skills.

    Desired Skills & Experience :

  • BS in Computer Science or related degree
  • 3+ years of experience developing enterprise web-based applications, with some system / network administration
  • Programming skills in : Java, Javascript, SQL, shell scripting & automation
  • Experience with Postgres is beneficial
  • TCP / IP networking knowledge, familiarity with RESTful services over HTTPS, and understanding of SSL, x509 certificates, SAML, and OAUTH are helpful
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience using VMware products (vSphere / ESXi, NSX, vSAN, vCenter, vROPs, vRLI, vRLCM) a huge plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and some knowledge of Windows systems is required
  • Demonstrable experience with code analysis, debugging, defect analysis, full lifecycle of development, and testing is helpful.
  • Knowledge of SaaS and SRE helpful.
  • Desire to work directly with customers and collaboratively with engineering, account teams, support organizations and product management is critical.
