As a Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will be a member of the Global Business Continuity team that has knowledge in industry best practices for Business Continuity Management and experience in developing and executing Disaster Recovery strategies.
You will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of recovery efforts for IT services should an Equifax data center experience a disaster as well as coordination of required disaster recovery exercises.
The Disaster Recovery Specialist will also oversee the creation, development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans, ensuring plans are actionable and accurate and that they adhere to the Equifax DR Policy and Standards.
In addition, the Disaster Recovery Coordinator will be informed of the Change Control process as it relates to DR infrastructure, and serve as the liaison between Equifax and the disaster recovery service providers.
Primary support will be provided to US data centers and secondary support to other Equifax locations around the globe.
You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, writing skills, self-motivation, and have project management experience.
Assist with the planning, coordinating, and execution of DR exercises and / or actual events
Assist in the development of exercise objectives between recovery vendor and Equifax
Assist in executing a problem tracking process for DR testing and coordinate post-test issues resolution meetings
Prepare and deliver a post-test report detailing all successes and issues encountered and remediation
Review changes in corporate resources with the management of those areas to assure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures
Responsible for ensuring manuals, configuration specifications, software specifications, written procedures or other information required for the execution of recovery processes are available and accurate.
Work with vendors of disaster recovery services and facilities to ensure best practices are followed
Develop and implement if necessary, a planned move to a Cold Site facility from Equifax’s recovery location
Work with DR hardware provider to ensure testing, contract changes, and testing documentation meet Equifax policies, standards and procedures
Advance the Equifax Global Business Continuity Management program through adherence to the GBCM Policy and Standards
Represent Equifax during customer audits of the DR program
Required skills of the Disaster Recovery Specialist :
5+ years of Disaster Recovery experience
Proficient English communication skills
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) / The BCI (MBCI, AFBCI, etc.), or willingness to obtain certification
Project Management experience
Preferred skills of the Disaster Recovery Specialist :
Mainframe / Midrange recovery experience
Knowledge of current disaster recovery planning methodologies and technologies
Knowledge of Business Continuity best practices and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) methodologies
Understanding of Change Management process
Familiarity with the Archer application
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, or related field (or the equivalent in education and work experience)
