Position Summary : Serves as single point of contact for driving quality releases. Proactively ensures all issues are resolved across all functional areas (Development, Quality Assurance, Operations, etc.

by assigning ownership and through processes. Facilitates and develops process for providing information on release status, issues, and progress.

Responsible for managing releases of software through the development lifecycle, including project planning, quality management, issue and risk management.

Provides improvements to improve quality and speed of releases and types of releases. This role will also project manage larger scale cross department projects for process / tooling improvements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Planning / Tracking :
  • Facilitate project / release planning, timeline, scheduling, and scope definition

    Drive projects against project plan and document discrepancies

    Measure and monitor progress to ensure project / release deliverables are completed on-time and within budget

    Track and communicate relevant project / release metrics, status, and issues

  • Quality Management :
  • Drive project quality plan and enforce overall program quality approach

    Facilitate quality checkpoints, handoffs and reviews

    Oversee delivery of functional requirements defined by the release

  • Issue / Risk / Scope Management :
  • Proactively identify, manage, and resolve issues / risks, escalating to leadership as appropriate

    Identify and manage bottlenecks in the process to improve throughput

    Ensure scope control process is followed and impacts are identified at project and release level

  • Team Coordination :
  • Work with engineers and technical architects to identify project interdependencies and ensure integration of projects within and across releases

    Work with DevOps Teams to ensure identification, reporting, resolution of testing problems, and smooth transfer from development to deployment

    Coordinate production deployment, including production release coordination, training, and documentation

    Facilitate Post-Release Reviews and develop action plans

    Education, Experience, and Skill Preferences

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Project / Release Management
  • Computer Science degree or equivalate work experience
  • PMP certification required
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and PMed scum teams
  • Scrum master certification preferred.
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience with all stages of the product development lifecycle (Concept à Launch)
  • Experience in launching or deploying products within a high tech environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Engineering, Marketing and R&D to ensure successful delivery of products and promotional programs to the marketplace
  • Ability to analyze and identify complex operational and technical issues
  • Technical understanding of developed solution to facilitate project problem resolution and quality management
  • Project planning and tracking skills
  • High degree of communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Leadership skills to effectively lead and motivate a team of peers
