Technical Revenue Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Technical Revenue Accounting Manager to join our team in San Jose.

Responsibilities :

  • Review / Analyze / Document complex revenue arrangements including Multiple Element Arrangements involving provision of professional services together with shipments of related hardware.
  • Review new contracts and purchase orders for non-standard terms and conditions and compliance with ASC 606 (revenue from contracts).
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Service, Marketing, Legal, Credit & Collections and other departments.
  • Perform booking audits.
  • Prepare revenue related journal entries and assist in monthly revenue analysis and allocations.
  • Manage deferred revenue schedules, deferred cogs, and return reserve balance sheet reconciliations each month.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements as laid out for revenue accounting and improve controls where necessary.
  • Satisfy quarterly and annual audit requirements for the company’s external auditors.
  • Drive toward systems consistent with business practice, best practice and efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance existing revenue analysis via relevant analysis of revenue by geographical area and by product line.
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures that streamline revenue operations processes.
  • Research revenue accounting issues as needed.
  • Perform revenue due diligence review and system end to end integration, as needed.
  • Qualifications :

  • 4-year degree in Finance and / or Accounting with 5 years direct revenue accounting experience.
  • CPA; Big 4 CPA accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition guidance, rules, contract accounting, hardware, software / SaaS, and Professional Services revenue recognition principles, and their application to complex transactions based on ASC 605 and ASC 606 guidance.
  • Knowledge of RMCS desirable.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, Order Management, Sales, and Professional Services teams.
  • Advanced skills in Excel / spreadsheet modeling.
  • Knowledge of Oracle R12 and Salesforce.com a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
