F5 Inc's Security Business owns some of the fastest growing products in the company’s portfolio. As a key driver of F5’s future growth, the security business is an area of strategic interest for F5.

You will join the new leadership of the security business unit in driving that growth and rapidly growing our footprint in the security market.

Do you enjoy crafting solutions, driving innovation and helping sales? You will be the senior technical marketing engineering lead within the Security Product Group responsible for sales enablement of some of the key security products and solutions related to infrastructure security, multi-cloud security, visibility, intelligence and orchestration.

It is one of a kind opportunity to work with Volterra, Shape, NGINX, BIG IP and other security products, as part of security solutions design and development.

You will also be responsible for analyzing competitors' products, solutions, and strategy in the infrastructure and application security space! And, supporting marketing team with events and launches.

We believe TMEs should have product knowledge (both F5 and competitors), industry perspective, technical sales ability, and a high level of networking engineering knowledge (including design and troubleshooting).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead overall solution designs as well as assist in the creation of product and solution level materials focusing on sales enablement and competitive advantages
  • Support product and portfolio marketing teams' go-to-market initiatives
  • Collaborate on strategic opportunities and deals with Product Management, Product Marketing, Global Architects and F5 Field
  • Embrace working independently on technical issues with minimal need for supervision or assistance
  • Fully own assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Partner closely with other team members and multi-functional teams to drive positive business outcomes
  • Perform technical research and analyses of competitors products and architectures in order to improve F5 products and guide sales teams
  • Contributing authority on competitors and their products
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Great interpersonal and strong presentation abilities required both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex and new technology simply
  • Ability to craft simple Power Point presentations based on complex technical data
  • Understanding of underlying web technologies including HTTP, HTML and JavaScript
  • Good functional knowledge of networking products such as routers, switches, firewalls, CDN, DNS, Windows and / or Linux / UNIX server
  • Solid understanding of TCP / IP networking and related protocols
  • Solid understanding in Network Engineering and Troubleshooting
  • Experience with some of the areas like Scripting, Ansible playbooks, Cloud, Containers / Kubernetes, Docker and DevOps
  • Experience with SaaS, Kubernetes and public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) templates
  • Familiarity with SSL / TLS basics, CI / CD pipeline, GitLab and Terraform
  • Ability to rapidly understand new technologies
  • Superb communication
  • Experience with various performance tools associated with stress testing preferred
  • Ability to learn quickly - we value flexibility
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on a dynamic, business objective driven initiatives and projects

  • Qualifications

  • BA / BS Computer Science Degree with 8 years experience; or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience required : Preferably in engineering, IT, technical sales or consulting related to network products.
  • Technical sales experience preferred
  • Competitive Intelligence experience preferred
