Working within the Data Services and Solutions team, the Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for managing the state of the art eBay marketing platform.

The size of data processed each day by the platform and the sophistication of the architecture involved offer an unique and exciting job opportunity and requires individual who is experienced managing distributed team with very high degree to technical skills in programing, scripting and writing SQL.

Products managed by the DSS teams include multi-petabyte data repositories; tools for exploration and discovery; and data services that enable the next generation of data driven services at eBay.

Responsibilities :

Defining product roadmap and executing the product lifecycle, including : gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with engineering and business groups across eBay to improve the product.

Provide strategic and tactical guidance on specific data elements that need to be tracked to enable tracking of metrics for the company initiatives.

Collaborate with data platform teams to build / enhance necessary data platforms to provide the self-service tools for data integration, data observability and generating data insights.

Work closely with engineering and business groups to prioritize development initiatives, maximizing the effectiveness of allotted development resources.

Collect feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to manage the data product lifecycle.

Work with senior management and business groups to create product plans and roadmaps.

Prioritize development initiatives, maximizing the effectiveness of allotted development resources.

Act as program manager to coordinate with cross-functional teams within the Data Analytics Platform org.

Drive decisions across all teams and know when to escalate.

Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule.

Requirements :

BS degree and 10+ years related technical work experience, preference for MBA and previous data platform Product Management work experience.

Deeply understand data platform, data and downstream consumers of data involved in multiple business domains.

Candidate will have strong knowledge and experience defining and managing data products that utilize traditional and non traditional tools for leveraging information.

Can do attitude, team player, energetic personality, works well under pressure in a fast paced ever changing environment.

Previous experience in environments with big data platforms like Teradata and Hadoop is highly desirable.
