Job Description

The Contracting Associate is a member of a client dedicated procurement service delivery team responsible for drafting and negotiating agreements according to the client’s policies and processes.

The Contracting Associate collaborates with the team’s strategic sourcing and category managers, legal counsel, business partners, other internal stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to maximize client value while managing and mitigating risk.

The team member manages contract types ranging from simple to complex, which may include master agreements, statements of work, amendments, NDAs, proofs of concept, etc.

This role frequently interacts with senior members of the client’s organization, so he or she must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable leading and participating in discussions across levels and cultures.

Key Responsibilities / Job Duties

  • Collaborate with business partners and other client stakeholders closely to thoroughly understand business needs
  • Manage each step of the contracting process from initiation through client and supplier execution
  • Review and draft contracts in accordance with client policies
  • Identify appropriate contract templates
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction based on quality of support, knowledge of business requirements, and proactive communication
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, project timelines, and adherence to SLAs and KPIs
  • Upload contracts to the central contract repository, ensuring the metadata is accurately input
  • Create contract expiry reports to identify sourcing and contracting opportunities

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to draft simple to complex contractual agreements
  • General knowledge and understanding of sourcing / procurement fundamentals (e.g., basic proficiency in pricing structures, organization of project deliverables, RFx formats, survey development)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide custom solutions to address client challenges
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of work experience in contracts, negotiations, procurement, or sourcing
