Job Description

The Order to Cash Director is responsible for providing business support to the following process : Collection of Accounts Receivables from our customers, Dunning activities, Cash Application, SOX Compliance, Claims, Credit Analysis and Customer Master Data across Americas Region.

As a subject matter expert with key stakeholders the position is charged with ensuring all transactional activity is properly recorded and compliant with country statutory and tax requirements.

The objective of this role is to lead and enable the OtC function based in Costa Rica to partner with their Finance and business counterparts to ensure that business objectives are successfully met.

Primary Responsibilities :

OtC Process Management :

Develop Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to manage the operation effectively and in line with stakeholder’s expectations with relationship to : cash collection, cash application, internal controls, claims, disputes, credit analysis

Manage process risk by the development and implementation of policies and internal controls to comply with accounting guidelines, ensuring process and sox controls are executed in a timely fashion with accuracy

Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and related internal control documentation.

Oversee operations with a process improvement focus, implementation of best practices and project management discipline

Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Define strategies to achieve objectives and goals while effectively managing service delivery cost.

Provide daily interaction, training, direction and oversight of staff activities to ensure coordination, accuracy and

timely delivery of work outputs.

Interact with business leaders to assess and understand business requirements and needs as it relates to information and process flow

Partner with process owners and other BSC OtC leaders to identify strategies to drive efficiencies through continuous improvement opportunities

Support internal customers

Partner with stakeholders in order to define objectives, align expectation, and ensure an end to end approach to process change and improvements.

Administers 'world-class customer service' experience for employees, suppliers and stakeholders

Manage relationship through collaboration, negotiation and influence

Develop and manage staff :

Fosters an environment that allows for staff development and teamwork efforts.

  • Sets expectations of performance, holds staff accountable and rewards achievements. Delegates work to staff to meet MSD goals and deadlines;
  • monitors staff service and provides timely feedback.

    Manage talent through the recruitment, onboarding, and training employees to ensure the delivery of operational objectives.

    Develop a high performing team through employee engagement, talent retention, development and succession planning.

    This position has management responsibility for development of staff members, including hiring, performance development and annual review, disciplinary actions, coaching and counseling, personal development and career advancement, succession planning, etc.

    Required Knowledge & Skills and / or Related Experience :

    Demonstrated strong math, query, analytical and systems skills with demonstrated experience in data management, ERP Systems, MS Office

    Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain financial controls.

    Effective training skills and team building capabilities for rapid ramp-up of functional tasks within area of responsibility.

    Demonstrated leadership skills; strong oral and written communication, presentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

    Demonstrated strong project management skills including ability to coordinate and implement complex cross-functional activities.

    Experience leading continuous process improvement projects leading to significant time or bottom line savings.

    Pays attention to details, produces accurate work and consistently meets deadlines.

    Has prior management experience.

    Familiarity with US GAAP preferred

    Solid financial background with experience in accounting processes

    Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive management style to implement new processes

    Experience using SAP R / 3 desired

    Experience working in shared service, regional roles, participation in global initiatives preferred
